Base Class: Sorcerer
Your innate magic comes from the power of the flame of a phoenix. You may have had an ancestor who gained powers from the phoenix, with phoenix tears being rare and a highly sought after substance, given their rarity, or you may have had the magic experience of doing so yourself.
Additional Spells
Starting at 1st level, you gain additional spells which are always prepared for you, and don’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.
1st: Cure Wounds, Healing Word 2nd: Flaming Sphere, Pass without Trace 3rd: Revivify, Fireball 4th: Freedom of Movement, Wall of Fire 5th: Mass Cure Wounds, Wall of Force
Burst into Flames
Starting at 1st level, you can burst into flames upon death. When you're reduced to 0hp, you can use your reaction to burst into flames. Anyone within 10ft of you must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC, or take 2d4 damage and be knocked 5ft backwards. The fire ignites objects that aren't being worn or carried. You still fall unconscious as normal.
You also gain resistance to fire damage
This damage increases to 2d6 at level 5, 2d8 at level 9, 2d10 at level 14 and 2d12 at level 20.
Fire Form
Starting at 6th level, you are able to embody the phoenix and gain some of its abilities. As a bonus action, you can summon your fire form, which lets you shine light for 60ft and dim light for a further 30ft. Furthermore you're able to contort your body to slip into any gap bigger than an inch. When you're hit with a melee weapon attack in your fire form, the attacker takes 1d4 radiant damage, which increases to 1d6 at fifth level, 1d8 at 10th level, 1d10 at 17th level and 1d12 at 20th level. While in your fire form, you have disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.
Your fire form lasts for an hour, and can be used once per long rest.
Tears of Healing
Starting at 6th level, when you cast a healing spell, you do not need to roll for healing, instead healing the maximum possible.
Rebirth
From 14th level, you are able to use the flames of your destruction to give you an additional boost. On your next turn after you burst into flames from being at 0hp, you are able to use the flames around you to be brought back to one hit point. This does not work if you have failed three death saving throws.
This feature can only be used once per long rest.
Fire Soul
From 18th level, you gain a permanent flying speed equal to your walking speed with golden wings appearing whenever you wish to fly.
Furthermore, you also gain immunity to fire damage while in your Fire Form.
