Monk
Base Class: Monk

Amidst the hallowed halls of monastic training, a select few seekers embark on the path of the Way of Gravitational Force. These monks are custodians of an ancient and esoteric art that intertwines their inner chi with the celestial dance of the cosmos. By delving into the enigmatic realm of gravity, they harness the primal force that binds worlds together, transcending mere physicality to command the very essence of the universe.

Through rigorous training, they unlock the Gravity Step – a profound technique that defies the laws of nature. With a focus of their inner energy, they glide effortlessly, defying the pull of the earth itself. No terrain can hinder their movement as they traverse vertical surfaces like ethereal specters, unbound by the limitations of lesser mortals.

With every step they take, the ground trembles beneath the impact of their Graviton Fist. Each unarmed strike becomes a conduit of celestial power, pulsating with gravitational energy. When their fists meet flesh, an irresistible force surges forth, dealing additional force damage and unleashing a tidal wave of power that can send their opponents hurtling away or crashing to the ground.

An aura of Gravitational Force surrounds these masters of cosmic might. Enemies who dare approach them find their movements entrapped in a vortex of gravitic power, as if the very air itself conspires to impede their escape. The monks stand firm, their defenses fortified by the essence of the stars, leaving their foes in awe of their indomitable presence.

As they progress along their arduous journey, the true mastery of Celestial Weight becomes theirs to wield. With a focused mind and a potent expenditure of ki, their strikes become cataclysmic events. The full weight of celestial bodies is harnessed with every hit, dealing extraordinary force damage. To those who withstand the fury of their celestial might, the monks may choose to stun their adversaries, leaving them vulnerable to the next onslaught.

Finally, at the pinnacle of their training, the chosen monks attain the pinnacle of gravitational prowess – the legendary Cosmic Collapse. With a whispered invocation, they summon the power of imploding stars. In the blink of an eye, they create a maelstrom of gravitational forces that pulls or pushes their foes as they desire. The celestial vortex ravages the battlefield, obliterating all that stands in their path and sending their adversaries into the depths of chaos.

In the annals of history, the Way of Gravitational Force stands as a testament to the harmony between martial prowess and the cosmic tapestry. These monks become guardians of balance, weaving gravity's symphony into the fabric of existence. With every strike, they command the majesty of the universe itself, a dance of power that leaves both allies and enemies in awe of their ethereal mastery. The whispers of celestial secrets are passed down from one generation to the next, ensuring that the enigmatic art of gravitational force never falters but continues to guide worthy souls toward a harmonious connection with the cosmos.

Gravity Step

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level as a bonus action, you can expend 2 ki points to defy gravity temporarily. For the next 10 minute, your movement is unaffected by difficult terrain, and you gain a climbing speed equal to your walking speed. Moreover, you movement speed it inceased by 10 feet and you can move along vertical surfaces and upside down on ceilings during this time, as if under the effects of a spider climb spell.

Gravity Shift. While Gravity Step is active, you can use a bonus action to shift your personal direction of gravity at will. This allows you to walk on walls and ceilings as easily as on the ground. You can also use this feature to change your orientation in mid-air, effectively falling "up" or "down" as desired. Your Gravity Step ability continues to function normally during this time.

Graviton Fist

At 3rd level, your unarmed strikes become infused with the power of gravitational force. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to unleash this force upon impact, dealing an additional 1d8 force damage. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC or be pushed 10 feet away from you and knocked prone.

Additionally, your unarmed strikes now count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to non-magical attacks and damage.

Gravitational Aura

At 6th level, you gain the ability to project a field of intense gravitational force around yourself. As a bonus action, you can spend 3 ki points to activate your Gravitational Aura. For 1 minute, any creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of you must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC or have their speed reduced to 0 until the start of their next turn. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Celestial Weight

At 11th level, your connection to celestial bodies empowers your strikes with even greater gravitational force. When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 4 ki points to deal an extra 3d10 force damage. The target must make a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC or be knocked prone. Additionally, if the target fails the saving throw by 5 or more, they are also stunned until the end of their next turn.

Empowered Strike: You can choose to spend additional ki points when using the Celestial Weight feature. For each additional ki point spent, the damage increases by 1d10. However, the maximum number of extra ki points you can spend on this feature is limited to your proficiency bonus (minimum of 1 extra ki point).

Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.

Cosmic Collapse

At 17th level, you can harness the overwhelming force of a collapsing star. As an action, you can spend 6 ki points to create a gravitational vortex centered on yourself. You have two choices for the effect of this vortex:

  1. Pulling Vortex: All creatures within 30 feet must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC or be pulled 20 feet directly toward you. On a successful save, their speed is reduced to 0 until the start of their next turn.

  2. Pushing Vortex: All creatures within 30 feet must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Ki save DC or be pushed 20 feet away from you. On a successful save, their speed is reduced to 0 until the start of their next turn.

Regardless of the chosen effect, creatures affected by the vortex take 6d10 force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The vortex lasts for one minute or until you end it as a bonus action. You can use an action on each of your subsequent turns to spend 2 ki point to acivate the vortex.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
