Proficient Grappler

Starting when you choose this path at 3rd level, You gain proficiency in Athletics if you don't already have it. At 17th level, you gain expertise in Athletics.

Wield Creature

Starting at 3rd level, you can attempt a grapple check on a creature within 5 feet that is no more than one size larger than you in place of one attack, or as part of the bonus action you take to rage. On a success, you can wield the creature as a weapon with the following special rules:

  • Regardless of your strength score, you must use two hands to wield a creature that is the same size as you or larger. creatures that are at least one size category smaller can be wielded with 1 hand.
  • When wielding a creature that is one size larger than you, you must make the attack at disadvantage.

When using a creature as a weapon, the damage die, called your Slam Die, scales with your level. It starts as a d6 at 3rd level, becomes a d8 at 6th level, and a d10 at 16th level. For creatures Medium and smaller, you roll one die, but for a large or bigger creature you deal 2 slam dice. You can use your attack action to perform one of the following options:

  1. Slam - you slam the grappled creature into the ground or the wall, or another hard surface or object. This deals automatic damage equal to your Slam Die. If what the creature is being slammed into is a breakable object, it also takes equal damage.
  2. Attack - You slam the grappled creature into another creature. Make an attack roll against the second creature's armor class. On a hit, both the target and the grappled creature take damage equal to your Slam Die plus your strength modifier.

Magical Creature

Starting at 6th level, when you are wielding a creature as a weapon, they are treated as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances. If the creature you are wielding is magical, they are treated as a +1 weapon.

Toss Creature

Starting at level 6, you gain 2 of the following options:

  1. As a bonus action, if you have the free hands (requiring only one free hand if the creature is small or tiny, but 2 if they are medium or larger), you can harmlessly toss an ally. You can toss a creature the same size as you or larger to an open space a number of feet away equal to 5 plus 5 times your strength modifier, or a creature at least one size smaller than you a number of feet equal to 10 plus 5 times your strength modifier.
  2. As one of the attacks of your attack action, you can throw a grappled creature, treating them as a thrown weapon. This attack has a short distance range equal to 5 feet plus half your strength modifier (rounded down) times 5, and a long range distance of 5 feet plus your strength modifier times 5. For a small or tiny creature, use the same formula but with 10 base feet. This attack functions the same as a Slam attack, but the thrown creature is knocked prone, and if the target is a creature, it must make a dexterity or strength saving throw (its choice) against your class DC or be knocked prone.

Meat Shield

Beginning at 6th level, if you are grappling a creature when you are targeted by an attack roll by a creature you can see, you can use your reaction to use the grappled creature as a shield. This increases your AC by 2 for the duration of the attack if the creature is the same size as you or larger, or increases your AC by 1 if the creature is smaller than you for the duration of the attack. If the attack misses you by no less than 5, it instead hits the creature you are grappling.

Brute Force

Beginning at 10th level, you gain a pool of Brute points. You start with 4, and your pool increases to 5 at 13th level, 6 at 16th level, and 7 at 20th level. You regain all expended uses of Brute points at the end of a long rest. You can expend brute points to produce the following effects:

  • Launching Blow - When you hit a creature with a grappled creature, you can use 1 Brute Point to force the target creature to make a strength saving throw. if the target creature is the same size as you or smaller, on a failed save it is knocked back 30 feet and falls prone, or half as far on a successful save and not fall prone. if the target creature is larger than you, on a failed save they are knocked back 15 feet, or 5 feet on a successful save.
  • Groundbreaker Strike - When you a hit a wielded creature against the ground or a breakable object, you can expend 2 Brute Points to cause tremors in the ground in a 15 foot cone. All creatures in the cone must make a Dexterity saving throw against your Class DC or take damage equal to your Slam Die as shards of rock (or whatever surface the floor is) strikes them. The ground in that 15 foot cone is difficult terrain.
  • Whirlwind Strike - You can expend 2 brute points to make a special attack with a grappled creature. This special attack affects all targets in a 5 foot radius if the target is medium or smaller, 10 ft if the target is large, or 15 feet if the target is huge. All creatures in this radius must make a dexterity saving throw, taking your Slam die damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. The grappled creature automatically fails this save, and only takes the damage from your Slam die once.
  • Titan's Toss - When you toss a friendly, willing creature as a bonus action, you can expend 1 brute point to allow the friendly creature to make 1 melee attack as a reaction. This attack can target any creature within 5 feet of the trajectory of the toss at disadvantage, or it can target a creature within 5 feet of the landing spot as normal.

Titan Form

Starting at 14th level, you can enter a state of supreme, supernatural strength. Your slam die temporarily increases to a d10, and you temporarily gain expertise in Athletics. In addition, you can grapple and wield a creature up to 2 sizes larger than you at disadvantage, one size larger than you as normal, and the same size as you or smaller as a one handed weapon. This state lasts for 1 minute before you return to normal. Once you use this feature, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest.
