Base Class: Bard
The stately courtesan, the boisterous dance caller, the nimble street performer; all these know the power of rhythm and movement. However, none know it better than the College of Grace, a loose collection of Bards who view dance as the ultimate form of artistic expression. Song and speech have their place, but nothing quite stirs the soul as watching a master of the art of movement. Bards of Grace come from all walks of life and none have the same goals other than the desire to share the beauty of the dance.
As a member of the College of Grace, you will inspire your fellows in ways other Bards could only dream of. No campfire can compete against one with a Grace Bard dancing around the ring, and no lord nor lady can refuse the intricate movements of a trained dancer. In combat, the dance lends itself well towards gliding around the battlefield, an untouchable presence able to shape melee to better suit their whims or needs of the team.
Fighting Trim
When you join the College of Grace at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in your choice of Acrobatics or Athletics. If you already have proficiency in your choice of skill, you instead gain Expertise in that skill.
Acrobatics
You gain proficiency in your choice of Acrobatics. If you already have proficiency in Acrobatics you instead gain Expertise in Acrobatics.
Athletics
You gain proficiency in your choice of Athletics. If you already have proficiency in Athletics you instead gain Expertise in Athletics.
Floorcraft
A bard of grace displays the practiced conservation of movement and exactness of their training at all times, even under duress of combat. Starting at 3rd level, you gain 10 movement speed and can use Disengage as a bonus action.
Additionally, when performing Song of Rest as a dance, friendly creatures that watch you dance and spend a Hit Dice to regain hit points regain hit points equal to your proficiency bonus in addition to the normal Song of Rest bonus. When performing Song of Rest in this manner, viewers do not need to hear you to receive its benefit.
Pas de Action
At 6th level, your movements in the dance of combat become practiced and precise. As a bonus action, you can expend a use of your bardic inspiration to gain one of the following benefits:
- Courtier's Kiss: Those who have danced at court know the devastating affect of a stolen glance. As a bonus action, attempt to stun one humanoid within 5 feet that can see you. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw or be stunned until the end of their next turn or until they take damage, whichever comes first.
- Dos-à-dos: In certain folk dances of the world, positioning is everything. As a bonus action, attempt to shove the target. Add your the Bardic Inspiration roll to your Athletics check, and on success, you can opt to move 5 feet.
- Roda: Dance and combat blend for this style of close quarters dancing. When you hit on an attack, you may make a second attack against another opponent that you move adjacent to during their turn. If you have no movement left, then this ability cannot be used. Your Bardic Inspiration roll is added to damage to both attacks.
Grand Pas
Beginning at 14th level, you are able to inspire others to join in your dance. Choose a number of creatures you can see within range equal to your Charisma modifier. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw, or join you in dancing.
A dancing creature must use all of its movement to dance without leaving its space, and has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws and attack rolls. While the target is affected by this ability, other creatures have advantage on attack rolls against it. As an action, a dancing creature makes a Wisdom saving throw to regain control of itself. On a successful save, the creature is no longer affected by the dance. Each round, on your turn, you must use your action to continue the dance. While you are not subject to the limitations or penalties of the dance, you cannot take other actions. You can choose to continue the dance in this way for up to 1 minute. Once you have used this ability, you must complete a long rest before you can use it again.
