College of Compassion

Most people love having someone that they can lean on to help them when they're hurt and to lift their spirits and many Bards of the College of Compassion use this to their advantage. Many bards of this college tend to be very kind and helpful people; they love to help people who are hurt, either physically, mentally, or emotionally. They use their gift of magic to heal their friends and those who need it and harm people who they see fit of pain and punishment. They have the ability to siphon pain from allies and take it for themselves and through their own pain, heal others. A lot of people see these bards as very talented healers that could possibly rival those of many clergy orders throughout the worlds.

When you join the College of Compassion at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with either the Medicine or Insight skills.

College Spells

You gain college spells at the bard levels listed in the table below. You add these spells to the amount of spells known.

Sympathy's Siphon

Starting at 6th level, you gain the ability to take other people's suffering away from them and take them for yourself. As a reaction when a friendly creature takes damage within 15 ft, you can magically draw the pain from their body and take the damage yourself. After you do so, both you and the creature whose pain you took gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your bard level. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your charisma modifier. You regain all expended uses after finishing a long rest.

Misfortune's Health

At 14th level, you learn the ability to heal others at the cost of your health. As a reaction when you take damage from an attack, you can target one creature within 20 ft of you and it regains hit points equal to the damage you took from the attack. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended uses after you finish a long rest.
