Base Class: Wizard
Arcane Scholars are wizards who have dedicated themselves to the systematic study of arcane lore and magic, delving into the underlying mechanisms of magic itself. They are often found in grand libraries and laboratories, experimenting with new spells and honing their understanding of the arcane.
Arcane Savant
Starting at 2nd level when you adopt this tradition, your intense study of magic allows you to master its complexities. You can learn one additional wizard spell of your choice each time you level up in this class. Additionally, you have advantage on Arcana checks related to identifying magic and deciphering arcane texts.
Fluid Mastery
Starting at 6th level, your understanding of magic allows you to modify your prepared spells. Whenever you finish a long rest, you can exchange one of your prepared wizard spells for another spell from your spellbook, reflecting your adaptability and breadth of knowledge.
School Expertise
At 10th level, your research has allowed you to specialize in a particular school of magic. Choose one school of magic. You gain a bonus to spell attack rolls and your spell save DC for spells from that school equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).
Arcane Insight
Reaching 14th level signifies a deeper understanding of the weave of magic. Spending at least one hour studying your spellbook during a long rest allows you to prepare one additional spell of any level you can cast. This preparation does not count towards your normal limit of prepared spells. This spell can be changed each time you take a long rest and spend an hour studying your spellbook.
Adaptive Adept
At 14th level, your mastery of magic reaches new heights, allowing you to adapt your spells on the fly to overcome challenges. When you cast a spell that requires a spell attack roll or that forces a creature to make a saving throw, you can choose to expend an additional spell slot of 1st level or higher. If you do so, you can either add a bonus to your spell attack roll or impose a penalty to the creature's saving throw equal to the level of the extra spell slot spent. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
