Echoes of Immortality

In the vast tapestry of history, few warriors shine as brightly as the Myrmidons. Not defined by the strength of their arm or the sharpness of their blade, but by the indomitable spirit that rages within them. They fight not just for glory, but to etch their names into eternity, to have their deeds reverberate through the ages. Every battle is not just a clash of steel, but a fierce contest for legendary status.

Agile Fighting

Your finesse with weapons ensures you strike true and fast. Your heroic drive and tactics carry you quickly across the battlefield, outpacing foes and allies alike. You gain the following bonuses while not wearing heavy armor:

  • You can use Dexterity in place of Strength for attack and damage rolls of all melee weapons.
  • Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.

Heroic Excellence

The Myrmidons are not just warriors; they are a force of nature on the battlefield, adapting and excelling in the face of adversity. Their prowess isn't merely physical; it's a melding of technique, valor, and an indomitable will.

  • Swift Reprisal. A Myrmidon knows that the best defense is a swift and decisive offense. When adversaries falter, they strike. Should a creature dare miss an attack against a Myrmidon within arm's reach, the Myrmidon can retaliate in an instant. When a creature misses you with a melee weapon attack while within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to make a melee weapon attack against the attacker. Myrmidons who wish to press their advantage further, they may expend a Valor point, granting them the capability to lash out with additional reactions in a single round, up to a number limited by their Proficiency Bonus.
  • Valor. The heart of a Myrmidon is fueled by their valor. They possess a reservoir of Valor points, equivalent to their level as a fighter. These points are more than just a measure; they are a testament to the Myrmidon's courage and spirit. Expended in the heat of battle, they can be gradually recovered through significant combat achievements or a well-deserved respite. A valor point is expended when you use it. You regain all of your expended valor points when you finish a long rest. You also regain 1 expended valor point when you score a critical hit on a hostile creature, when you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points, or when you succeed on a saving throw against a harmful spell or ability.
  • Heroic Talents. The Myrmidons are not defined by their strength alone but by their unique set of skills that set them apart on the battlefield. You learn three talents of your choice, which are detailed under “Heroic Talents” below. Some talents require valor points to use, while others grant a benefit so long as your valor points are above a certain threshold. You learn two additional talents of your choice at 7th, 10th, 15th level, and 27th level. Each time you learn new talents, you can also replace one talent you know with a different one.
At the Ready

You have advantage on initiative rolls while you have at least half of your maximum valor points remaining.

Defensive Stance

By spending 1 valor point, you can take the Dodge action as a bonus action.

Echoes of Eternity

You can spend 1 valor point before any roll to gain advantage on that roll.

Heroic Accuracy

When you throw a weapon you can spend 1 valor point to double its long range without suffering disadvantage.

Heroic Strike

When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 valor point to add an additional die to the damage roll.

Quick Recovery

Spend any number of valor points as a bonus action and gain 1d6 temporary hit points per expended valor point.

Swift Step

As part of the Attack action, you can spend 1 valor point to increase the range of your melee weapon attacks by 5 feet until the end of your turn.

Tenacious

You spend 3 valor points (no action required) to end one effect on yourself that is causing you to be frightened, paralyzed, grappled, or stunned.

Unbreakable

When forced to make a saving throw, you can spend 2 valor points to make the roll with advantage.

Underhand Strike

As part of the Attack action, you can spend 1 valor point to make an additional melee weapon attack as a bonus action.

Unhindered Advance

You ignore nonmagical difficult terrain while you have at least half of your maximum valor points remaining.

Heroic Act

In dire moments, when fate teeters on a knife-edge, Myrmidons seize destiny's reins. Channeling their inner valor, they act with blinding speed, turning the tide of battles in mere moments. At the end of another creature’s turn, you can spend 2 valor points as a reaction to take your next turn immediately. When you do so, you don't regain your reaction on this
special turn and you forfeit your next turn in the initiative order.

Rigorous

Tireless in their pursuit of glory, Myrmidons can tap into their reservoirs of valor even amidst the heat of battle, rejuvenating their spirits and rekindling their fighting fervor. When you use your Action Surge you also regain 2 valor points.

Calm Before the Storm

Even the fiercest storm has its calm. In moments of respite, Myrmidons reflect upon their deeds, regaining their valor and preparing for the battles yet to come. You can refocus yourself during a short rest, regaining expended valor points equal to half your valor point maximum. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Tip of the Spear

Ever vigilant and looking for an opening, the precision of your strikes are unparalleled. Your melee weapon attacks can never suffer from disadvantage and your Swift Reprisal is no longer limited by your Proficiency Bonus.
