Monk
Base Class: Monk

A Monastic Tradition that hones the Larynx, turning it into a devastating weapon alongside your fists. Being able to fully control sound waves you produce as though they were an extension of your own body. This tradition allows for careful placement of sound, long distance communication and powerful, deafening attacks.

Torrential Vocals

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can sing vocals that seek out specific targets and cause disturbances within them.

You gain a new attack option that you can use with the Attack action. This special attack is a ranged spell attack with a range of 30 feet. You are proficient with it, and you add your Dexterity modifier to its attack and damage rolls. Its damage is thunder, and its damage die is a d4. This die changes as you gain monk levels, as shown in the Martial Arts column of the Monk table.

When you take the Attack action on your turn and use this special attack as part of it, you can spend 1 ki point to make the special attack twice as a bonus action.

When you gain the Extra Attack feature, this special attack can be used for any of the attacks you make as part of the Attack action.

Bonus Proficiencies

3rd-level Way of the Voice

Your voice becomes an instrument for anything requiring music, you also learn the language Infernal.

You also learn the Thunderclap cantrip if you don't already know it and it doesn't count against your known cantrips.

Knowledge of the Road

At 6th level, you've developed a few techniques that have kept you up and alive on the road so far.

Redirect Attack. When a creature misses you with a melee attack roll, you can spend 1 ki point as a reaction to cause that attack to hit one creature of your choice, other than the attacker, that you can see within 5 feet of you.

Work Through. You are able to move through a space an enemy is occupying if first, you move at least 5ft before overlapping the space. When wading through enemies, all other enemies within 5 feet of the target enemy do not impose opportunity attacks against you.

What's At Hand. You gain proficiency with improvised weapons if you don't already have it. Improvised weapons are monk weapons for you.

Booming Belt

At 11th level, you gain the ability to belt at an insane volume, dealing large amounts of damage. As an action, your voice booms in a location within 150 feet that deals thunder damage to anyone within range that you desire.

Each creature in that 20-foot-radius sphere must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 2d6 thunder damage. A creature doesn’t need to make the save if the creature is deaf or under circumstances that would deaden sound.

You can increase the shouts damage by spending ki points. Each point you spend, to a maximum of 3, increases the damage by 2d6.

Mastery of the Larynx

17th–Level Way of the Voice Feature

Tuned Ears: You are immune to being deafened. You have advantage on perception checks using sound. When you make a ranged attack, the range is doubled.

As you have progressed, honing your voice and musical talent, you have learned ways to maximize your vocal output. Your mastery of your larynx allows you to unleash a performance the like of which few have experienced. By using 3 ki points, as an action you and all creatures of your choice within 100ft of you that can hear gain resistance to thunder damage and can not be deafened for 10 hours. Additionally, hostile creatures within 120ft of you that can hear you must make a Constitution saving throw of 14 + CHA. On a failed save, they suffer 8d12 thunder damage and are Deafened. On a successful save, they take half as much damage and are not Deafened. Once you use this feature you cant do so again until you take a long rest.
