Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

What is a soul ? Wizards and scholars have, for a long time, wondered about the nature of one's soul. It is something you see without your eyes, understand without words and yet, describing it to someone else would be as impossible as describing colors to someone that has never seen them. It is essence, it is wisdom, it is someone and yet it is also pure malleable energy.
Even if most soul sorcerers are born with that special capacity to comprehend and channel souls into raw power, some acquire it as souls were trapped into their beings.
Weather you are born attuned to the spirit world and are able to sense fragments of souls around you, or helped freely by souls only passing by, your attunement to souls has granted you an understanding of their energy and the capacity to shape the Weave into spells using them.

Open window to the soul

Your acute affinity with souls gives you a better understanding of those around you. Within 5 feet of a souled being, while being able to look into their eyes or touching them, you can add your charisma modifier to your insight checks related to them.

When you reach level 14 in that class and gain the 6th sense ability, you can now use that bonus while simply being within 30 feet of the souled being you want to have a better insight on.

Malleable essence

At first level, once per short rest, after you cast a spell, you can use the souls overflowing essence to shield you, giving you temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus + your charisma modifier. Alternatively, you can use that overflowing essence to empower one of your offensive spells damages by the same amount.

Ethereal force

Some souls will take a more active form to protect you.
At 6th level, as an action, you can spend 3 sorcery points to give some form to the souls at your disposal.
The souls take various forms, sometimes looking like a ghostly silhouette, other times like a translucide and vague animal shape made of light, but they would more often look like an intense and condensed form of ethereal energy. The ethereal force uses the Will-o'-Wisp statistics and appears within 60 feet of you.  It uses your initiative and plays directly after you. You can dismiss it whenever you want, otherwise it will disappear if it reaches 0 hit point or after 10 minute.

6th sense

One can mask their faces, but cannot mask their souls. At 14th level, you gain the ability to feel beyond normal sensorial ways, sensing fragments of spiritual energy and in everything around, the ethereal plane being more and more familiar as you developpe your understanding of the soul. You have truesight at a range of 30 feet.

Shatter Soul

You use your powerful attunement to souls to attempt shattering the soul of one of your foe.
At 18th level, once by long rest, as an action, you can spend 5 sorcery points to shatter the soul of a creature. Chose one creature within 30 feet. That creature must make a charisma saving throw or take 10d8 psychic damages or half as much on a successful save. If that creature failed the save you also regain 2 sorcery points.
Only creatures without souls are immune to that effect, your capacity to sense souls would let you know if it is the case.
