Base Class: Bard
The College of Instruction is the route where bards prove that learning can be an interesting area of performance to master and appeal to, and that not all bards and their charismatic abilities are dependent on the use of an instrument. These bards are often supportive characters that inspire and motivate their teammates to do great things with their charismatic charm and ambitions.
The bard carrying the title of jack of all trades is the real identifier of the College of Instruction. They're trained to be proficient of a little bit of everything with a deeper ability to understand just how much is needed to master it and what kinds of people hold the potential to make it happen.
Learning Strategies
At the 3rd level, you are a master of entertainment and education. An instrument is complementary more than it is necessity to you. You drive for results from others, and thrive off master performances from others around you.
You can replace the use of a spell focus item with verbal components, but doing this always creates a verbal component being required for the spell.
You gain the Guidance as a cantrip, which doesn't count against the number of bard cantrips you know. For you, it has the range of 20 feet when you cast it and it can be used to affect one ability check or attack roll.
Additionally, when a target uses Guidance or Bardic Inspiration granted and rolls a natural 20, you can regain a use of Bardic Inspiration.
Engaging Instructor
At the 3rd level, your have a keen awareness to recognize when your allies need your assistance and the best way to engage them to achieve their goals. Your Bardic Inspiration can be used as a reaction when used for your allies, and the target of your Bardic Inspiration also gains a bonus equal to the bardic inspiration dice + your Charisma Modifier.
Additionally, you gain additional uses of Bardic Inspiration. This increases to 2 additional uses at the 9th level, and 3 additional uses at the 17th level.
Mindful Planning
At the 6th level, you know it's always good to have a plan before approaching a problem, but to always have a backup plan since things rarely go exactly as they were plotted out.
You gain the following perks when you Ready an action
- A readied spell that isn't used gets converted rolling as many d4 per spell level to grant a target as Temporary Hit Points
- A readied attack that isn't used, can be converted to casting Guidance instead
- Readying a spell doesn't break concentration of any spells being concentrated, only a new spell that requires concentration to maintain will break concentration of another concentration spell being maintained
Group Instruction
At the 14th level, while there is some quality of your instruction that is lost, you know how to effectively direct multiple allies to accomplish a task.
When you use your Bardic Inspiration as a bonus action, you can lower your bardic inspiration dice to grant bardic inspiration to an additional target. This can be done as many times till the Bardic Inspiration bonus is a d6.
Multiple targets affected by your Bardic Inspiration this way don't gain your Charisma bonus to the check.
Example: At 14th level, 2 targets can gain a d8 Bardic Inspiration dice, or 3 targets can gain a d6 Bardic Inspiration dice.
