Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks who follow the Cursed Contender tradition draw their inspiration from the fearless and tenacious Yuji Itadori of the Jujutsu High School. These monks learn to harness and control their inner cursed energy, using it to enhance their physical abilities and to unleash devastating attacks upon their foes.

Cursed Energy Channeling

Starting at 3rd level, you gain the ability to channel cursed energy into your strikes. Whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or a monk weapon, you can spend 1 ki point to deal an additional 1d6 necrotic damage to the target. The damage increases to 2d6 at 6th level, 3d6 at 11th level, and 4d6 at 17th level. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once), and you regain expended uses when you finish a short or long rest

Cursed Resilience

Starting at 6th level, you gain resistance to necrotic damage. Additionally, you can spend 2 ki points to enter a state of cursed resilience as a bonus action. While in this state, you gain temporary hit points equal to your monk level + your Wisdom modifier. These temporary hit points last for 1 minute or until depleted. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.

Cursed Techniques

At 11th level, you learn to manifest the power of cursed techniques. Choose two curse techniques from the list below. You can use each technique once per long rest without expending ki points:

  1. Domain Expansion: As an action, you can expand your cursed energy around you, creating an area of effect that lasts for 1 minute. The area is a 20-foot radius centered on you. While in this area, you and your allies gain advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

  2. Black Flash: When you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack using your Cursed Energy Channeling feature, you can spend 3 ki points to unleash a devastating strike. The target must make a Constitution saving throw against your monk save DC or take an extra 4d6 necrotic damage and be stunned until the end of their next turn.

  3. Divergent Fist: As an action, you can make an unarmed strike against each creature within 5 feet of you. Each hit deals normal unarmed strike damage plus an additional 1d8 necrotic damage.

Cursed Contender's Mastery

At 17th level, your mastery over cursed energy becomes truly exceptional. You gain the following benefits:

  1. Your Cursed Energy Channeling damage increases to 5d6 necrotic damage.

  2. When you use your Cursed Resilience feature, the temporary hit points granted are doubled.

  3. You can use your Divergent Fist technique twice before needing a long rest to recharge it.
