these lethal operatives adopt the mantle of the Black Knife. Their expertise lies in the art of illusion, seamlessly blending shadows and deception. Renowned for their unparalleled agility, they are particularly formidable in one-on-one combat situations. Aligned with the essence of death itself, they wield its power as an extension of their being.

Black Knife

When you choose this subclass at 3rd level, you gain a black knife to channel the essence of darkness into your strikes. It’s power growths with your own. 

⦁ The black knife has the Finesse, Light, Range and Thrown properties and does 1d6 + Dexterity modifier piercing damage and it’s attacks are considered magical. The damage die grows to a d8 at 9th level, a d10 on 13th level and a d12 at 17th level.

⦁ The Black knife’s AC equals 8 + your Dexterity modifier + proficiency bonus. It’s hit points equal your Rogue level plus your proficiency bonus, and it is immune to poison and psychic damage. If the Black knife is destroyed or you lose it, you can perform a 1-hour ritual to craft another. This ritual can be performed during a short or long rest, and the previous Black knife is destroyed if it still exist.

Evasion Mastery

At 3rd level your nimble reflexes allow you to excel at dodging danger.
Whenever you take the Dash action opportunity attacks made against you during the movement are made with disadvantage, additionally you can move through the space of creatures regardless of their size.

Shadowstep

At 9th level, you gain the ability to step through shadows and reappear elsewhere.

Upon hitting an enemy with your Black Knife feature, as a reaction, you can teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space that is in dim light or darkness, and that you can see within 60 feet of you.

Cloak of Shadows

Starting at 13th level once per long rest while holding your Black knife and using it as a spellcasting focus you can cast either the Invisibility or Greater Invisibility spell targeting only yourself. No longer holding the knife or storing the knife ends the spell early. 

Soulbound Strike

(proficiency bonus/ long rest)

At 17th level, your connection to the necrotic energy within you reaches its peak.
When you deal damage to a creature using your Black Knife feature, you can choose to turn your sneak attack damage into necrotic damage. The target must also make a Constitution saving throw, DC equal to 8 + your Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus. On a failed save, the target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage dealt. This reduction lasts until the creature finishes a long rest. Creatures immune to necrotic damage are resistant to this damage.
