Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

The Path of the Sacrifice is a gruelling one that requires its followers to suffer in the place of others, often for no material gain. Barbarians are not known for their kindness or humility. You are an exception.

Self-Sacrifice

During your rage, when an enemy attacks an ally within a 5-foot radius of yourself, you can spend a bonus action redirecting the attack towards you. You take half of the maximum possible damage the attack could have done. The effect radius increases to 10 feet at 9th level and 15 feet at 16th level.

Retaliation

Beginning at 6th level, when damaging an enemy that damaged you during it’s turn, you can add half of the damage you took as retaliation. You can use this ability three times a rage.

This ability can be used 4 times a rage at level 10, and 5 times a rage at level 16.

Powerful attack

Beginning at 10th level, you can forgo your extra attack option to instead attack with a surge of strength. If your attack hits, you roll three times the damage dice. If your attack misses, you take double the damage until the beginning of your next turn. This ability can be used twice between short rests.

Half-Dead Savagery

Starting at 14th level, you can empower your strikes by adding the hit points you have lost to the damage roll. As an example, if you had lost 15 hit points, you would deal your damage rolls and then add fifteen on top of that, ie. 2d6+STRmod+15. This ability can be used three times per rage.

Additionally, as a bonus action, you can deal up to 5 damage to yourself. This damage is considered magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance, and does count towards damage rolls affected by Half-dead savagery. This ability can only be used three times per rage.

Starting at 19th level, ending your rage instantly replenishes HP you had lost by damaging yourself with this ability, up to 15 HP.
