Base Class: Rogue
Lion blades come from the most secretive schools of the fighting arts. They scoff at assassins, laughing at their poisons and blow guns — and they’re equally derisive of knights, stomping about the battlefield in burdensome armor and wielding huge, slow weapons. Lion blades prefer crowded urban areas and are masters of motion, controlling both their own movement and those around them. With the flick of a blade, they can slow their enemy to a crawl and then step into a crowd and disappear from sight. They are quick, agile, knowledgeable, and masters of disguise.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the disguise kit and performance.
Slowing Strike
Beginning at 3rd level, once per round on a successful sneak attack, a lion blade may choose to deal 1 less die of sneak attack damage and instead reduce the target’s ground speed by 5 feet. Once an opponent’s speed has been reduced to 0 feet, they are immobilized. If the target uses wings to fly, the lion blade can choose to reduce the creature’s flying speed instead of its ground speed. The movement penalties imposed by slowing strike are removed once the creature fully heals or it receives a lesser restoration spell.
Hide in Plain Sight
At 3rd level, a lion blade can use the Stealth skill even while being observed. As long as they are within 10 feet of an area of dim light or darkness, a lion blade can use the hide action to hide them self from view in the open without anything to actually hide behind. They cannot, however, hide in their own shadow, and they have -5 to any stealth checks made this way. If a creature you are hiding from using this feature has darkvision, it can see you unless you are within 10 feet of complete darkness.
If a lion blade hits an attack against a creature that has not seen them since the end of the lion blade's last turn, or if the lion blade is disguised and makes an attack against a creature that believes the disguise, the attack is a critical hit.
Unexpected Suggestion
Beginning at 9th level, once per day if a lion blade has advantage on an attack against a creature they can use suggestion on that creature instead of attacking, using charisma as your spellcasting ability. The DC for this is 8 + Proficiency bonus + your charisma modifier.
This feature can be used twice a day at level 15, and three times a day at level 20.
Grandmaster of Disguise
Beginning at 13th level, a lion blade is able to improvise materials for a disguise that are as effective as an actual disguise kit. They gain a +2 bonus to charisma checks while under the effects of a disguise. If they are hidden or invisible they can also use an action to disguise themselves. If they do so, they make a deception check to determine the quality of the disguise. While disguised this way, anyone that sees you can make an investigation check using your previous deception check as the dc. If they succeed they will understand that you are wearing a disguise, and they react to you as they normally would if you were undisguised.
Silent Soul
Beginning at 17th level, a lion blade has mastered the ability to still their thoughts, their movement, and their sounds to such a point that they become harder to dominate, harder to see, and harder to hear. All Stealth checks made by the lion blade have advantage and the lion blade is immune to being charmed or frightened.
