Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians who follow the Path of the Khan emulate the fierce and legendary warriors of the Mongol Empire, led by figures like Genghis Khan. These barbarians are nomadic conquerors, skilled horsemen, and masters of hit-and-run tactics.

Hombrew magic item to pair

Barbarian's Beastclasp

Wondrous Item (necklace), very rare (requires attunement)

Crafted in rugged iron, this Beastclasp necklace empowers you to store a willing horse. Spend an action touching the horse to safely stow it. The horse slumbers within until released using an action. Only horses up to Large size can be held. Attunement enables mental communication with the stored horse.

Release: Spend an action to unlatch and unleash the horse within 5 feet. It emerges hearty and equipped.

Limits: One-horse storage. Extra attempts while full will fail.

Mounted Fury

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency in Animal Handling and choose either the longbow or shortbow as a bonus weapon. Additionally, while mounted and wielding a one-handed melee weapon, you can use your bonus action to make a melee attack with a second one-handed melee weapon you're holding.

Rapid Rider

You gain the ability to move quickly on your mount. Your mount's speed increases by 10 feet, and you can use your reaction to halve the damage from an attack that hits your mount. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.

Nomadic Tactics

Your hit-and-run tactics improve. While mounted, your movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks, and you have advantage on Dexterity saving throws made to avoid effects that would restrict your movement.

Pillaging Strike

When you hit a creature with a melee attack while mounted, you can use a bonus action to attempt to knock the target prone. The target must succeed a DC 15 or be knocked prone.

Horde's Resilience

Your connection to the horse and the land strengthens. You gain advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened. Additionally, when you start your turn mounted, you regain hit points equal to your Constitution modifier if you have less than half of your hit points remaining.
