These monks are known for their ability to effortlessly parry incoming strikes, their bodies flowing with the rhythm of battle. When attacked, their responses are as swift as they are precise, executing ripostes that are not only devastating but executed with a captivating grace. Their bravery is undeniable, their unflinching demeanor contrasting the whirlwind of blades that surrounds them. En Garde!

3rd-level Way of Bravado feature

At 3rd level, your extensive training elevates your combat finesse to new heights. You become proficient with rapiers and improvised weapons, showing your adaptability as a fighter. Your bravery and charm also give you proficiency in persuasion.

In battle, your instincts sharpen. When you're holding a finesse weapon, you can use your quick reactions to Parry. As a reaction, when an enemy attacks you, you can roll a martial art die and add the result to your AC. You must roll before you know if the attack hits or misses. This can help the attack miss you. You can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier before needing a short rest to do it again.

If your Parry moves the attack off target and it misses, you have a chance to strike back. As part of the same reaction, you can spend 1 Ki point to make a melee weapon attack against the same enemy who attacked you. This showcases your ability to turn defense into offense in a flash.

Witty Duelist

Through your seasoned training and honed duel experience, you emerge as a Witty Duelist—capable of channeling your Ki into innovative combat techniques that enhance your martial finesse.

Flurry of Blows: Within the flurry of blows, you possess the flexibility to alter your approach. Instead of unleashing conventional unarmed strikes, you have the option to execute one of two actions:

1. Catch it!: As a bonus action, you deftly select and throw an improvised weapon within your immediate reach. Upon impact, your strike disrupts the creature's focus, rendering them disadvantaged on their next attack roll.
2. Swift Kick: Alternatively, you can choose to deliver a precision kick as your bonus action. This unarmed strike targets your opponent, and should it connect, you harness the kinetic energy to propel the target backward, pushing them 10 feet away.

Step of the Bold: Your Step of the Wind ability takes on an augmented dimension. While performing this technique, you can designate a creature within a range of 60 feet. This marked adversary becomes the focal point of your heightened agility. Subsequently, your next melee weapon attack against this designated creature benefits from the advantage, facilitating more precise and impactful strikes. The Witty Duelist tradition thus showcases your adaptability, enabling you to manipulate Ki in ingenious ways, turning the tide of battle in your favor with strategic flair.

 

Noble Duel

6th-level Way of Bravado feature

Upon reaching the 6th level, you can engage in a one-on-one confrontation that showcases your refined skills. As a bonus action, designate a hostile creature within 30 feet, as your adversary, forging a binding connection that lasts for 1 minute or until you willingly retreat 30 feet from them.

During this Noble Duel:

• You possess heightened accuracy against your adversary, gaining an attack roll bonus equal to your Wisdom modifier.
• Any damage inflicted upon you by a source other than your adversary triggers the replenishment of temporal hit points equal to your Wisdom modifier.
• If your adversary diverts their attention to target a different creature with an attack or harmful spell, your swift reflexes grant an immediate attack as a reaction.
• If your adversary's hit points diminish to zero, the duel concludes, rewarding your tenacity with a recovery of hit points equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier.

The Noble Duel feature can be employed once before requiring a short rest, or it can be initiated through an alternative method by expending 2 Ki points to challenge a new foe to a duel. This embodiment of focused combat mastery showcases your mettle as a Way of Bravado monk, allowing you to assert your dominance with every elegantly executed strike.

Coup de Grâce

11th-level Way of Bravado feature

Upon attaining the 11th level, the Coup de Grâce feature solidifies your dominance in battle. Whenever a hostile creature's attack misses you or you successfully parry using your En Garde! ability, the threshold for a critical hit with a finesse weapon decreases by 1, with a floor limit of 16. This heightened precision remains in effect until you achieve a critical hit or recieve any damage, at which point the effect conclude.

Unmatched

17th-level Way of Bravado feature

At the pinnacle of your prowess, you ascend to the status of a Peerless Duelist—the embodiment of ultimate martial finesse. Revel in the following benefits:

• Duel Mastery: When taking the Attack action during your turn, you gain the capacity to execute an additional attack, showcasing your unparalleled combat skill.
• Finesse Mastery: Your critical hit threshold, influenced by the Coup de Grâce feature, remains unaffected even after achieving a critical hit. This unrelenting precision reflects your ability to consistently exploit foes' weaknesses.
• Parry Mastery: With every turn, you wield your En Garde! parry reaction effortlessly, free from the constraints of using your reaction or expending a feature use.
