Base Class: Bard
Most often forget that war is an art. The positioning and evasive footwork needed can be likened to a dance, while the flourish of your blade can be compared to the stroke of a brush on canvas. Not to mention the skill required to thrive on the battlefield; outliving your opponents time and time again. The college of War capitalizes on all of these things, turning their students into leaders on the battlefield who have the potential to turn the tide in combat.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you join the College of War at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with martial weapons, medium armor, and your choice of calligrapher's supplies or painter's supplies.
Calligrapher's Supplies
You become proficient with calligrapher's supplies.
Painter's Supplies
You become proficient with painter's supplies.
Battlefield Command
At 3rd level, you are able to instruct your companions on where and when to strike in combat, giving you the upper hand. A creature that you have granted Bardic Inspiration to may use the Bardic Inspiration die to instead grant themselves advantage on one weapon attack roll or spell attack roll.
Frightening Presence
Also at 3rd level, your mere presence on the battlefield can chill your adversaries to the core. You can use an action to attempt to intimidate a number of creatures up to your proficiency bonus that are within 60 feet of you. The targets must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of you for one minute. A frightened target may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
Once you assume this frightening visage, you can’t do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
Extra Attack
Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
Commanding Presence
Starting at 14th level, you may use a bonus action to speak a single command-word, targeting a creature affected by your Frightening Presence. That target must follow the command on its next turn, as per the command spell rules, ending the frightened effect on that particular target once its turn has ended.
