Monk
Base Class: Monk

In the heart of the ancient forest, the battle between the adventurers and the formidable sorcerer Alaric had reached its climax. Alaric's chants resonated through the air, conjuring fire bolts and lightning tendrils. The ground shook as a fiery explosion erupted near the party, leaving them battered and singed.

Aurelia, a monk who had followed the Way of the Arcane Disruptor, stepped forward. With focused intent, she grounded herself and tapped into the weave of magic swirling around her. Alight with determination, her eyes met Alaric's with an understanding of the arcane that surpassed even his own.

As Alaric unleashed a torrent of arcane missiles, Aurelia's movements were precise and fluid. With a swift motion, she summoned her ki, absorbing the magical onslaught into her aura. The missiles spiraled around her before dissipating harmlessly into the air, much to Alaric's disbelief.

With a sly grin, Aurelia turned the tables. Concentrating her energy, she stored a potent spell within her ki. Alaric's eyes widened as he recognized his spell forming within Aurelia's grasp. Before he could react, she released the spell with a flick of her wrist. The arcane energy surged toward him, crashing against his defenses and leaving him momentarily staggered.

Seeing an opportunity, the party's spellcasters unleashed their magic, amplified by the magic field Aurelia had created. Bolts of energy, shielded by her anti-magic sphere, streaked through the air, homing in on Alaric with uncanny precision. The sorcerer's magical barriers weakened with each strike, and his spells faltered.

But the climax was yet to come. With a fierce battle cry, Aurelia entered the fray with a series of rapid strikes, each blow augmented by her mastery over magic. She delivered a stunning setback, channeling her ki to disrupt Alaric's focus. The sorcerer's eyes glazed over momentarily as his connection to his magic wavered.

Summoning all her strength, Aurelia attempted to steal Alaric's most potent spell. She unleashed a flurry of blows, each strike accompanied by a subtle manipulation of arcane energies. Alaric fought to maintain his composure, but the tide had shifted irrevocably. The stolen spell energy dissipated like a whisper in the wind as the final blow landed.

With a triumphant nod, Aurelia turned to her companions, the battle won through her mastery of the Way of the Arcane Disruptor. The forest was once again filled with tranquility, the echoes of magic fading into memory. Her path had proven that even the most formidable sorcery could be countered and turned to serve the cause of righteousness.

The Way of the Arcane Disruptor is a monastic tradition that merges the monk's discipline with a profound understanding of magic manipulation. Monks who follow this path dedicate themselves to unraveling the threads of arcane energy, using their ki to counter, redirect, and exploit magical forces. They become adept at neutralizing spells, turning them against their casters, and creating fields of fluctuating magic on the battlefield. Masters of the Way of the Arcane Disruptor are often sought after by those who wish to guard against the unpredictable power of spellcasters.

3rd Level: Arcane Resonance

Expending 1 ki point. This resonance grants you a bonus to your AC and saving throws against spells until the end of your next turn, equal to your Wisdom modifier. Spending an additional ki point extends this bonus to allies within 10 feet of you.

Furthermore, when you use Flurry of Blows, you can focus the resonance to disrupt a spellcaster's concentration. Successfully resonating a spell with this ability imposes a disadvantage on the target's next spellcasting attempt. If you successfully resonate a spell, you can channel its magical energy, adding an extra martial arts die to your unarmed strikes on your next turn. You also infuse your strikes with the same damage type as the resonated spell, dealing magical damage. If this effect is not used by the end of your next turn, it dissipates until you resonate another spell.

6th Level: Spell Deflection

As a reaction to a spell targeting you or one that you are within range of, you can roll a d20 and add your Wisdom modifier and proficiency bonus. If the total exceeds the spell's attack roll or save DC, you can negate the spell entirely or halve the damage, if applicable, of the spell's effect. You can spend 2 ki points to store a spell of up to 3rd level as part of this reaction. The level of spell you can store increases to 4th at 11th level and 5th at 17th level. You can release the stored spell on your turn using a bonus action.

11th Level: Arcane Fields

You can expend 3 ki points to create an antimagic field centered on yourself. In a 10-foot radius around you, magic is suppressed, and spells cannot be cast or maintained. Additionally, you can create an amplification field for 3 ki points of the same size. In this field, spells cast by you or your allies gain a +1 bonus to attack rolls, an extra damage die, and advantage on saving throws against spells. Both fields last for 1 minute.

17th Level: Arcane Theft

When you use Flurry of Blows, you can spend 1 to 9 ki points to target a caster's arcane energies. Depending on the number of ki points spent, you steal a corresponding spell slot. The opponent chooses a spell from the stolen spell slot level that they cannot cast until they finish a short rest, and the stolen spell slot is lost. As a bonus action, you can release the stolen spell, channeling its energy into a single devastating effect.
