Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Whether in packed arenas or underground dens, for the Gladiator, battle is the ultimate performance best executed in front of an admiring audience. These entertainers are brutal contenders. They find strength in every kill and demoralize their opponents with raucous flair. While some gladiators embody the brutal pit fighter, treating every battle as if their life depends on it, others are skilled duelists who prefer the glory of a singular contest.

Gladiator's Performance

At 3rd level, the battlefield becomes your stage. You gain proficiency in the Intimidation and Performance skills.

In addition, you can use your bonus action to begin a Gladiator's Performance - for the next minute, you gain the following benefits:

  • You gain a bonus to Strength and Dexterity checks and saving throws equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum +1).
  • Your attacks with a weapon or an unarmed strike deal extra damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum +1) to a target on a hit.
  • You can use your reaction to add your Charisma modifier (minimum +1) to your AC against one attack that would hit you. To do so, you must be able to see the attacker.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency bonus, and regain any expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Awe-Inspiring

Also at 3rd level, you can command wonder and respect from your foes.

You can use your bonus action to awe a creature you can see within 30 ft. of you. Make a Charisma (Intimidation or Performance) check, contested by the target's Wisdom (Insight) check - if you win the contest, the target has disadvantage on all attack rolls against you until the start of your next turn.

Brutal Bravery

Starting at 7th level, you have the courage needed to endure harrowing battles.

You have advantage on saving throws against being Frightened. In addition, when you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, you gain a number of temporary hit points equal to your Fighter level.

Flourishing Riposte

By 10th level, you punish those who would interrupt your performance.

When an attack misses you due to your Gladiator's Performance feature, you can immediately make one melee attack against the attacking creature as part of your reaction. If the creature is under the effect of your Awe-Inspiring feature, you make this attack with advantage.

Moreover, your proficiency bonus when you make a Charisma (Intimidation or Performance) check is doubled for those skills.

Enduring Entertainer

Starting at 15th level, even deadly wounds can't keep you from your grand performance in battle.

When you roll initiative and have no uses of your Second Wind feature remaining, you regain 1 use.

Brutal Contender

At 18th level, every strike you make is made to kill.

When you hit a target with a melee weapon, you deal one additional die of that weapon's damage.
