These spiritual warriors seek enlightenment through rigorous training, meditation, and a deep connection with the mountains. They draw upon the elements and harness the power of the mountains to become formidable combatants and wise sages.

Yamabushi's Nature Connection

At 3rd level, you gain a deep connection to the elements. Choose one of the following damage types: Cold, Fire, Force, Lightning, or Thunder. This choice grants you specific benefits and enhances your abilities as you progress. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can change your chosen element.

  • You gain resistance for the chosen damage type.
  • Your unarmed strikes deal additional damage of the chosen type equal to your Martial Arts dice.

Ice's Serenity

Your chosen element is Cold.

Lightning's Recklessness

Your chosen element is Lightning.

Mountain's Will

Your chosen element is Ki

Thunder's Voice

Your chosen element is Thunder.

Rushing Spirit

At the 3rd level, your movement is improved:

  • Your speed increases by 10 ft.
  • You gain a climbing speed of 40 ft.
  • You can jump an additional 5 ft. up, and 10 ft. wide. 

Additionally, you can spend 1 ki point as a free action. During the next 10 minutes, difficult terrain doesn't cost you extra speed.

Storm's Surge

At 6th level, you tap into the raw power of the storm, channeling its energy into your strikes. Based on your choice in your Yamabushi's Nature Connection, you get the following benefit. 

Whenever you hit a creature with an unarmed strike or monk weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki to release a surge of elemental energy. The target takes additional damage of the chosen type equal to your Martial Arts die of the same damage type you had chosen.

  • Ice's Burn: The target makes a Constitution saving throw after the hit. On a fail, reduce his speed by half your speed, until the end of their next turn.
  • Fire's Rage: The target makes a Dexterity saving throw after the hit. On a fail, it takes an additional 2d6 fire damage and cannot regain HP until the end of your next turn.
  • Mountain's Fist: The target makes a Strength saving throw after the hit. On a fail, it is pushed 10 feet and knocked prone.
  • Lightning's Strike: The target makes a Dexterity saving throw after the hit. On a fail, it drops the object you choose that has in its hands. It has disadvantage to attack you until the end of your next turn.
  • Thunder's Roar: The target makes a Constitution saving throw after the hit. On a fail, reduce its AC equal to your Wisdom modifier until your next turn.

Channel the Wrath of the Spirits

At the 11th level, based on your choice for Yamabushi's Nature Connection feature, you get the following benefits.

The next time you hit a creature with an unarmed strike attack you may spend 2 ki points. The attack deals an extra 2d6 damage of the chosen type to the target, which becomes visible if it's invisible, and the target sheds dim light in a 5-foot radius and can't become invisible until the end of your next turn.

You can spend up to 3 extra ki points, if you do, add an extra 1d6 damage dice to the attack for each ki point spent.

Wrath of the Lightning Spirits

Your chosen element is Lightning

Wrath of the Mountain Spirits

Your chosen element is Force.

Wrath of the Thunder Spirits

Your chosen element is Thunder.

Dual Harmony

At the 17th level, you achieve a state of enlightened harmony, becoming one with the elements. You can now choose two elements from your previous features. You gain all the benefits associated with both chosen elements.

Additionally, when you spend ki points to use a feature that requires a target to roll a saving throw, the DC increases by 2.
