Monk
Base Class: Monk

monks of the way of the unbound mind train their minds just as hard, if not harder, than their bodies. This training manifests as a psionic power the monk can use to shape the world to their will. Monasteries are often found in abandoned mind flayer colonies or deep in the astral planes the gith call home, where latent psychic energies can be attuned by a mind with enough patience and inner discipline.

Telekinetic Strike

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can manifest your psionic talent as bursts of deadly force.

Whenever you make an unarmed strike, it can take the form of a telekinetic strike, making the follow alterations to the attack:

  • The attack gains a range of 30 feet, though it is still a melee attack.
  • Use your wisdom modifier, instead of your dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls.
  • The attack deals force damage instead of bludgeoning damage.
  • If the attack hits a large or smaller target, you may push it 5 feet away from you.

Push Limits

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can push your mind at the expense of your body. Whenever you would spend a ki point, you may instead suffer 1d8 damage, as a visible sign of that damage occurs to you, such as bleeding from the nose. You can do this a number of times equal to your wisdom modifier. You regain all uses of this feature on a long rest.

Telekinetic Slam

At 6th level, your telekinetic powers can throw your enemies across the battlefield. Once per turn, Whenever you hit a huge or smaller target with an unarmed attack, you may spend up to 3 ki points to send it flying away. The target must make a strength saving throw. The target is pushed 10 feet away from you per ki point spent or half that if it succeeded. If the target is prevented from moving by a barrier, the creature takes 1d6 bludgeoning damage per 10 feet it failed to move.

Wave of Power

At 11th level, you gain the ability to unleash a destructive wave of telekinetic energy. When you use flurry of blows, you may instead attack each creature in a 30 foot cone from you with an unarmed strike, using the alterations of Telekinetic Strike. If you hit a creature in this way, it is knocked prone. All large or smaller loose objects in the area are pushed away.

Mind Mastery

At 17th level, you have mastered the telekinetic arts, unleashing their full potential. You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed and can hover. In addition, your other features from this subclass are enhanced in the following ways:

  • Telekinetic Strike has range of 60 feet and can push huge or smaller creatures.
  • You may use Push Limits a number of times equal to twice your wisdom modifier.
  • You may spend up to 6 ki points on Telekinetic Slam and it can affect creatures of any size.
  • Wave of Power's area increases to a 60 foot cone.
