Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

The Weeping is one of the most powerful Blessed known, and is old enough that many say she precedes the Fall of the Gods. She gives power to others in exchange for.... actually it’s not clear what she gets out of the transaction, though there are theories. She will sometime seek out people and offer power and some will seek it from her. Those who come to her take a risk as she has been know to destroy those who fail to meet her mysterious criteria.

She feeds from every person who she bonds with. Her connection is subtle but strong, and works over any distance. She will drain a tiny amount of Spirit from each thrall as they are resting, so it is never even noticed.

In reality, the Weeping exerts a subtle control over those whom she grants power. She feeds them ideas and thoughts that will seem to be their own, and gently steers them into doing her will. She often seeks out thralls with political or economic power, and she thinks in (very) long terms. Her ultimate goals are unknown.

Sanguine Aspect

1st-level Weeping feature

You manifest an aspect of your patron’s dreadful power. As a bonus action, you transform for 1 minute. You gain the following benefits while transformed:

  • You gain temporary hit points equal to [roll]1d10[/roll] + your warlock level.
  • Once during each of your turns, when you hit a creature with an attack roll, you can force it to make a Wisdom saving throw, and if the saving throw fails, the target is poisoned until the end of your next turn.
  • You have advantage on saving throws to avoid the poisoned condition.
  • You are resistant to poison damage.

You can transform a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus ( {{proficiency#unsigned}} ). You regain one expended use after a short rest, once per day,, and  all uses after a long rest.

The appearance of your Sanguine Aspect reflects some aspect of your patron. For example, your form could be a shroud of wispy gauze, or your eyes could become empty sockets dripping blood.

Corrupted Blood

6th-level Weeping feature

Your patron’s powers have a profound effect on your body and magic. You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.

In addition, once during each of your turns, when you hit a creature with an attack roll and roll damage against the creature, you can replace the damage type with either necrotic or poison damage (choose when you make the attack). While you are using your Sanguine Aspect, you can roll one additional damage die when determining the necrotic or poison damage the target takes.

Corrupted Shell

10th-level Weeping feature

Your connection to the Weeping’s corruption  now saturates your body. You have resistance to necrotic damage. If you are transformed using your Sanguine Aspect, you instead become immune to necrotic damage.

In addition, when you would be reduced to 0 hit points, you can use your reaction to drop to 1 hit point instead and cause your body to erupt with corrupted energy. Each creature of your choice that is within 30 feet of you takes either necrotic or poison damage (choose each time) equal to 2d10 + your warlock level. You then gain 1 level of exhaustion. Once you use this reaction, you can’t do so again until you finish 1d4 long rests.

Life Owed

14th-level Weeping feature

When you reach 14th level, the Weeping owns your body and soul, but you can draw strength from that bond. On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to [roll]1d8[/roll] + your warlock level ( {{classlevel}} ). Additionally, if you put a severed body part of yours back in place when you use this feature, the part reattaches.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
