Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of Dance learn to move with the grace, delicacy and finesse of a dancer. A dancing monk glides across the battle field with delicate and controlled movements, resulting in what appears to be an unthreatening display of artistic prowess. However, the dancing monk's artistry is actually the result of their awareness of their environment and their ability to detect the tempo of their opponent's attacks, all of which allow them to easily manoeuvre around the battle field and identify the perfect moment to strike.

Dancer's Skills

Your martial arts technique mixes combat training with the precision of a dancer and the agility of an acrobat. You gain proficiency in the Acrobatics and Performance skills if you do not already have them.

Dancer's Awareness

Your experience of performing in groups has made you aware of others in your surroundings. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your wisdom modifier.

Dancer's Flourish

When you hit a creature with a monk weapon or unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to attempt to damage another creature with the same attack. Choose another creature within 5 feet of the original target and within your reach. If the original attack roll would hit the second creature, it takes damage equal to the original damage roll without the addition of your damage bonus. The damage is of the same type dealt by the original attack.

Fluid Movement

Starting at 6th level, moving through nonmagical difficult terrain costs you no extra movement.

Stage Presence

At 6th level, you learn to use your stage presence to unsettle your opponents in battle. When a creature makes a melee attack against you, you can spend 2 ki points as a reaction to give the attacker disadvantage on their attack roll.

The Tempo of Battle

You are able to detect the tempo of your opponents attacks and movements, allowing you to predict their actions and choose the perfect moment to strike. If you miss with an attack roll using a monk weapon or an unarmed strike on your turn, you can reroll it. You can use this feature only once on each of your turns.
