Echomancers are bridge builders between the material plane and the Aetherium, manipulating echoes of the past and harnessing the wisdom and power of the spirits. Their unique connection allows them to channel the abilities of entities from the Aetherium realm, making them formidable and versatile wizards.
Aetherial Connection
Starting at 2nd level, you establish a strong connection to the Aetherium, granting you several unique abilities:
-
Spiritual Insights: You gain proficiency in the Religion skill if you don't already have it. Additionally, you can use your Intelligence modifier instead of Wisdom for Religion checks related to spirits, the afterlife, or the Aetherium.
-
Aetherial Sight: You can see into the Aetherium realm, allowing you to perceive spirits and ethereal creatures as if they were visible. You can also cast the spell See Invisibility at will without expending a spell slot.
Channel Echo
At 2nd level, you gain the ability to channel echoes of the past or spirits of the Aetherium through your spells. When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose to infuse it with the essence of a spirit or an echo of a specific moment in time. This infuses the spell with one additional effect, determined by the essence or echo you choose. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wizard level, and you regain all expended uses after finishing a long rest.
- Echo of Knowledge: Your spell gains a chance to grant you temporary proficiency in a skill or tool related to the spirit or moment in time. The proficiency lasts until the end of your next turn.
-
Echo of Healing: Your spell heals an additional amount of hit points equal to your wizard level.
-
Echo of Restraint: Your spell imposes disadvantage on saving throws against it for one target.
-
Echo of Fury: Your spell deals additional damage equal to your Intelligence modifier.
Spiritual Ward
You gain resistance to necrotic and psychic damage. Additionally, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on an attack roll or saving throw made against you or an ally within 30 feet of you. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses after finishing a long rest.
Aetherial Echoes
Starting at 10th level, your connection to the Aetherium becomes even stronger. You can choose two effects when using your Channel Echo feature. This does not cost an additional use of the Channel Echo feature.
Echo of the Ancients
At 14th level, you gain the ability to summon the spirits of powerful entities from the Aetherium to aid you in your time of need. As an action, you can call upon the Echo of the Ancients to assist you. This summons a spectral entity related to your chosen echo, providing unique benefits depending on the essence or moment in time you channel:
-
Ancient Protector: You summon a spirit guardian that grants you and your allies within 30 feet resistance to all damage types for 1 minute.
-
Ancient Scholar: You gain access to the memories and knowledge of an ancient scholar, granting you expertise in two skills of your choice for 1 hour.
-
Ancient Avenger: You call forth a vengeful spirit that grants you and your allies within 30 feet an additional damage equal to your Intelligence modifier with each of your spell attacks or weapon attacks for 1 minute.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
