Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Pride is not only for those who revel in their own excellence and individual power, but also for those who balance the fine line between confidence and arrogance, ambition and overreach. These paladins are charismatic and fearless, with an unwavering conviction in their path and purpose, though their towering pride can often lead to difficulties in cooperation with others.

Tenets of Pride

Stand Above: Seek always to improve, to stand tall amongst others, even if it means pushing others down.

Self-Reliance: Trust no one but yourself. Others are there to be used or cast aside.

Honor in Self: Guard your honor and reputation at any cost. They are the mirrors of your power.

Defy Submission: Never bow, never kneel. Rise against any challenge, even when it threatens to consume you.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed in the Oath of Pride table. Spells marked with an asterisk are new spells. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Armor of Hubris. As an action you can choose to imbue yourself with inhuman resilience and a refusal to falter in the face of injury. For the next minute you gain +1 AC and regain half of your level in hit points at the beginning of each of your turns. This effect ends if you are incapacitated.

Devilish Charm. As a bonus action, you can target a creature and force them to make a Charisma saving throw against your Spell Save DC. On a failure, you learn one of the targets deepest desires, and the target takes a penalty to saving throws against Charm effects from you equal to your Charisma modifier for one hour. Creatures have advantage against this saving throw if they regard you as hostile.

Aura of Uncertainty

Starting at 7th level you emanate a 10 foot aura of uncertainty for your enemies, causing them to waver in their attacks. When a creature within your aura damages you or a friendly creature with an attack, you can reduce the damage of the attack by a value equal to your Charisma modifier.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Hollow Appeal

At 15th level, your overwhelming self-confidence has reached a point that it causes others to abide by your force of personality, that is until - you fail to maintain appearances. You gain advantage on all Charisma checks. This feature is disabled upon failing a charisma check until you complete a long rest.

Dominion of Infernal Pride

At 20th level, your pride becomes so palpable that it resonates within the infernal planes. Through your sheer audacity and hubris, the Nine Hells itself can manifest through you; as if offering you a boon in acknowledgement of your near godlike pride.

Upon invoking this infernal connection as an action, you undergo a metamorphosis, taking on devilish traits for 1 minute:

Form of Pride: You grow one size category (From Medium to Large, for example), and fiery wings sprout from your back, granting you a flying speed of 60 feet. These wings shed bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet.

Infernal Gaze: Your eyes glow with a deep crimson hue, and any creature that meets your gaze can be subjected to a Command spell (no action required) once per turn. The spell save DC is your Paladin spell save DC.

Strength of Bator: Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can push them 10 feet in any direction and deal an additional 3d10 fire damage.

Aura of Superiority: Enemies within 10 feet of you must make a Charisma saving throw against your Spell Save DC or take a -2 penalty to their attack rolls and ability checks for the duration of your transformation. Creatures who succeed on this saving throw are immune to Aura of Superiority for 24 hours.

After using this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
