Monk
Base Class: Monk

Joy is a form of Freedom. No longer restricted by the shackles of fear, sadness, or anger. Monks of the Way of Joy find that the freedom of enlightenment is closely related to the freedom of joy. Happiness isn't an emotion, it's an experience that transcends the barriers of the body. Particularly experienced monks of this type have learned to take the joys of fighting and weaponize it into a tool that lets them cut through any failures they might normally have. Joy is a form of Freedom, and an application of Freedom is to be free of your Weaknesses.

Joyful Battle

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, the joys of combat become intoxicating to you. When you roll initiative you gain temporary hit points equal to your proficiency bonus. At the start of each subsequent turn, you regain these temporary hit points plus additional points equal to half of your proficiency bonus (rounding down) for each turn that passes.

These temporary hit points disappear if you end your turn with no hostile creatures within 60 feet of you.

Bottomless Energy

At 6th level, your energy rarely seems to bottom out in a fight. When you would normally use a feature that expends Ki, you may subtract 2 temporary hit points for every Ki point that feature uses to use it without burning Ki.

This feature only applies to temporary hit points gained by your Joyful Battle feature.

Liberating Spirit

Beginning at 11th level, your spirit is unshakable and can extend even to your allies when needed. As a bonus action, you can spend 4 Ki points to fill your companions with a sense of freedom. Each creature of your choice who can see you within 60 feet becomes immune to the frightened condition for 1 minute.

You are always immune to the frightened condition.

Warrior of Liberation

At 17th level, you can awaken to a new power that lies beyond death. At the start of your turn while reduced to 0 hit points, you can choose to automatically fail 3 death saves to enter a state of pure liberation. You can take two turns instantly, automatically getting up from the prone condition. During these turns you are immune to all conditions and damage and any Ki points that normally would be burned are not. At the end of your two turns, your body shrivels up and dies.
