Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Those who take the Oath of Service are sworn to uphold the tenets of the Guild of the Silver Service’s code of conduct. The Guild is the professional body of the Valets, Butlers, Au Pairs, Footmen, Grooms and Majordomos.

Their code is their source of their moral compass, guiding their decisions and actions, and dictating good or bad. These paladins watch over the person they serve, often referred to as their ‘principal’ (generally this is also their employer) to anticipate and meet their every need and uphold the values of good service.

The code has 4 primary tenets;

Loyalty - one is an extension to one’s principal and their business. The smooth running of their daily life is the very essence of one’s business. This means butlers are the eyes, ears and hands of their principal when they are not around, and so keeping their trust, confidence and interests at the forefront of one’s mind at all times is essential.

Serenity - one must remain calm and cool-headed in all manner of situations; loss of order or calm can only lead to chaos and confusion which is of no assistance to anyone. one strives to project a sense of calm and confident capability so that your principal remain calm.

Attentiveness - one must be proactive in addressing the needs of one’s principal before those needs may have even arisen, this requires insight and preparedness. No situation should be a surprise because there should be a plan for every eventuality, and so one is expected to deal with all manner or issues in a wide array of appropriate means.

Mentorship - one must always impart one’s knowledge to ones principal. Guiding them when the path is unclear, being their foundation and in times of crisis, advising them in all manner of situations, meaning one must always be wise and humble.
