Base Class: Bard
The College of Doom often finds its roots in lands that have experienced grave disasters in their distance past, or worlds that have prophesied such events in their near future. Best known for their tragic tales and dirges, these dreary bards specialize in curses and hexes that emody the doom that prevades heir creative works.
Bardic Hex
You learn to craft Bardic hexes that tempt terrible fates. As a bonus action, you can expend on Bardic Inspiration die to hex a creature you can see within 30 feet of you for the next minute. You can only have one Bardic Hex active at a time. The hex ends early if the target dies or you die. Until the hex ends, apply an effect of your choice from the following list to the target:
- Whenever the target makes an attack roll, they must subtract one from the result. If the Bardic Inspiration die used to create this hex was a d12, subtract two instead.
- Whenever the target makes a saving throw roll, they must subtract one from the result. If the Bardic Inspiration die used to create this hex was a d12, subtract two instead.
- The target can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points.
- The target's AC is reduced by one. If the Bardic Inspiration die used to create this hex was a d12, subtract two instead.
- The target takes psychic damage equal to Bardic inspiration die used to create this hex at the start of each of its turns.
- All the target's movement speeds are halved.
If the Bardic Inspiration die expended to create this hex was a d8, choose two effects instead of one. If it was a d10, choose three. If it was a d12, choose four.
Mockery of the Doomed
You learn to intuit your foes' anxieties and taunt them with the fates they most fear. You learn the Vicious Mockery cantrip if you don't already have it, which doesn't count against the number of bard cantrips you know. For you, if the target fails its Wisdom saving throw they also have disadvantage on the next saving throw it makes before the end of its next turn.
Wretched Curse
You learn the Bestow Curse spell if you don't already know it and it doesn't count against the number of Bard spells you know. For you, Bestow Curse has a range of 30 feet, it doesn't require concentration, and the Remove Curse spell can't end its effects.
Accursed Dirge
Your dirge becomes infused with a curse that hurries listeners towards their final fate. As an action, you begin your Accursed Dirge, which lasts for one minute or until you lose your concentration. Choose a creature within 60 feet of you that can hear you, you then make a Charisma (Performance) check. The target must make a Constitution saving throw against your Bard spell save DC. If your Charisma (Performance) check was a 20 or above, this saving throw has disadvantage. The target must succeed in this saving throw or lose half its current hit points, rounded down, at the beginning of its turns. This spell only ends when either the performance is finished after 10 rounds, the Target dies, or your hit points equal 0.
Once you use this feature, you can't see it again until you finish a long rest.
