Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

In the world of Terion, those who follow the Oath of the Tempest uphold the Tenants laid forth by Avandra. She is the chaotic good goddess of Freedom and Luck. Her domains are of Tempest and Trickery.

Tenants of the Oath of the Tempest

Luck: Choices in life are but a simple roll of the dice. Win or lose - respect the outcome.

Freedom: Life is fleeting. Cast off the shackles of fate and forge your own path.

Trickery: Enjoy a good joke or prank. Even those made at your expense. Laughter can enrich lives.

Dedication: There is true freedom in upholding your ethos. Live free and remain loyal to your allies.

Wrath: Be a tempest of reckoning to your enemies. Temper your wrath once retribution has been made.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Wrath of the Tempest. As an action, you present your holy symbol and speak a blessing of Avandra to your allies. For 1 minute, allies within 30 feet (equal to your proficiency) gain 1d4 thunder damage to their attacks and spells.

Eye of the Storm. As an action, you present your holy symbol in the midst of your foes to extend a force of thunder out from your body. All enemies within 10 feet take 1d10 thunder damage and must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, they are pushed 15 feet away from you. On a success, they do not move.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of the Tempest Spells

Aura of Tempest

Starting at 7th level, while you are conscious, friendly creatures (including you) within 10 feet of you gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Shell Game

Beginning at 15th level, you invoke the Luck of Avandra to begin a shell game.

When an ally you can see within 30 feet is hit by an attack roll, you can use your reaction to swap places with your ally. You appear under the effects of mirror image with 3 duplicates. The attack instead targets you or your duplicates.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Power Overwhelming

At 20th level, as an action, you unleash the overwhelming power inside. You manifest as an entity of the tempest. For 1 minute, you grow to a size of Large (regardless of your original size) and your attacks with weapons gain splash damage. Your reach increases by 5 feet and successful attacks carry the weight of your overwhelming power. Creatures and objects within 10 feet of your target take half the amount of damage you inflict. You also gain temporary hit points equal your Paladin level plus your Charisma modifier.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
