Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Your soul is tied to multiple planes of existence, all at once, granting you the magical power to cast magic and to manipulate the flow of magic between planes of existence.

Planar Magic

1st-level Planar Soul feature

You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Planar Spells table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn’t count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an abjuration or a conjuration spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.

Planar Spells

9th planar binding, wall of force

Defensive Portals

1st-level Planar Soul feature

Your connection to the intersection of planes allows you to open portals inside of magic barriers, to redirect enemy attacks. When a creature you can see within 60 feet makes an attack or casts a spell, you may use your reaction to cast the spell Shield, and spend a sorcery point to do one of the following:

  1. Cause an attack or spell to be reflected back at your attacker. If the spell requires you to make a save for half damage, you take half damage. If the spell or attack would allow you to make a save for no damage, you take no damage. Then, make a ranged spell attack against your attacker. If you succeed, they take full damage from the attack or spell. This happens at the same time as any damage you took from the spell, and you take no damage from a physical attack.
  2. Place your magic barrier in front of someone else, within 60 feet. At higher levels, you may upcast Shield when you do this, in order to place your magical barrier in front of an additional number of targets within range equal to the number of spell slots spent above 1.
  3. Widen your barrier by 5 feet. You may widen your magical barrier by 5 feet in any direction for each, additional sorcery point spent.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Planeswalker

6th-level Planar Soul feature

You can lay hold of the intersection of planes so strongly that you may will temporary gates to open for you. You learn the spell Misty Step, and may cast it without expending a spell slot. If you already know this spell, you may learn another sorcerer spell of your choice, as the spell Misty Step becomes so natural to you and innate to your being that you may now cast it without spending a spell slot, and even if you are out of spell slots and/or sorcery points.

You may use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per short or long rest.

Planar Manifestation

14th-level Planar Soul feature

The power of the planes begins to manifest through you at all times. You may now add your CHA bonus to your armor class, doing so after all other spell bonuses and armor bonuses (if you are proficient with them) have been calculated. Additionally, you may use your reaction to spend three sorcery points, momentarily opening an intersection of the planes through yourself. When you do so, you may make a physical object or physical barrier pass through your body, or you may choose to pass through the physical object or physical barrier, instead. A charging opponent who would collide with you, passes through you, instead, and attacks that would strike you will instead strike what is behind you, if there is anything behind you.

If you end your turn inside of a creature or object, you are safely ejected into the nearest, empty space of your choice. If another creature ends it's turn inside you, it is safely ejected into the nearest, empty space of your choice, taking no damage from the force of being placed in that space. However, if the space they are ejected to would case them to trigger a trap or fall, they will trigger the trap or fall as normally.

Planar Eruption

18th-level Planar Soul feature

The power of the planes courses through your veins, and you have become one with their intersection. You may now cast the spell Vortex Warp without expending a spell slot.

You may do this a number of times per day equal to your proficiency bonus.

You also learn the Mage Hand cantrip. If you already know this cantrip, you may learn another sorcerer spell of your choice. The range of your mage hand is doubled to 60 feet, and you may cast it as a bonus action. Your mage hand is invisible, and may carry twice the weight of a normal, mage hand (increasing from 10 lbs. to 20 lbs.), and may be moved twice as fast (increasing from 30 feet per turn to 60 feet per turn). Objects held by the mage hand are visible and tangible while stationary, but become ethereal while moving, as they pass through the astral plane.
