Oath of Perseverance

The Oath of Perseverance is sworn by paladins who embody the unwavering spirit of resilience and the unyielding will to overcome all obstacles. These paladins are the bastions of hope in the face of darkness, the beacons of strength when all seems lost. They believe that through their indomitable resolve, they can inspire others to rise above adversity and find the strength to persevere.

TENETS OF PERSEVERANCE

Those that share the Oath of Perseverance live to see another day, the crest of the shield proudly shown on their armor.

Indomitable Resolve. Pledge to face adversity with unwavering determination. You embody resilience and refuse to be swayed by despair or doubt. In the face of darkness and despair, you find the strength to press on, inspiring others to do the same.

Unyielding Fortitude. Swear to protect the weak and defenseless, never faltering in your duty to shield those who cannot defend themselves. You are the stalwart shield that stands between the innocent and harm, ready to bear any burden to keep them safe. You strive to become an immovable force against evil, standing tall in the face of danger.

Steadfast Honor. Your word is your bond, and your actions are guided by unwavering integrity. You hold yourself to the highest moral standards and always strive to do what is right. You are an example of honor and righteousness, not only in combat but in all aspects of your life.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Persevering Hero - When casting the Heroism spell using a spell slot, you can alter it, using your Channel Divinity as part of the action. The casted spell requires no concentration, lasts its full duration, and its range becomes 30 feet.

Protective Barrier - When you or an allied creature within 30 feet of you takes damage, you can erect a powerful barrier of force, using your Channel Divinity as a reaction. The creature gains 10 temporary hit points per paladin level, which take as much of the triggering damage as possible. All remaining temporary hit points disappear at the end of the current turn.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Oath of Perseverance Spells

Aura of Perseverance

Starting at 7th level, your presence grants those who gain temporary protections a measure of true respite. Whenever an allied creature within 10 feet of you gains a new instance of temporary hit points and has at least 1 hit point, the creature immediately restore hit points equal to your Charisma modifier (with a minimum of 1). The new instance of temporary hit points must replace any previous instances of temporary hit points.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Shield Bash

Beginning at 15th level, you can channel defense into powerful offense.

You can sacrifice all temporary hit points that you have with no action required when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack or an unarmed strike. The creature takes Force damage equal to twice the amount of temporary hit points that was sacrificed.

Champion of Victorious Perseverance

At 20th level, you become an embodiment of unwavering strength and resilience that you cease to age. As an action, you can emanate an aura of indomitable perseverance that extends 30 feet from you for 1 minute or until you are incapacitated. Allied creatures within this range gain these benefits:

• During this time, you and friendly creatures of your choice have advantage on all saving throws.
• Additionally, if a friendly creature succeeds on a saving throw which includes death saving throws, restore hit points equal to twice your Charisma modifier (with a minimum of 2) on a successful save, and half (with a minimum of 1) on a failure.
• Allied creatures within 30 feet of you cannot gain levels of exhaustion. If they have levels of exhaustion, reduce it by 1 at the start of each of their turns.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
