Base Class: Wizard
A specialized school in the realm of Abjuration, the School of Negation focuses primarily on countering magical threats. This unique discipline of magic teaches techniques that allow for greater magical control of a battlefield.
Spell Shatter
At 2nd level, you have learned to disrupt the activation of spells you know. If a creature you can see is casting a spell that is in your spellbook, as a reaction, you may roll an Arcana check against the caster's spell save DC. If your roll is equal to or greater than the caster's spell save DC, the caster's spell fails and has no effect but does not consume a spell slot. This feature can be used a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per short rest.
Discreet Denial
Starting at 6th level, you have taken measures to prevent interruption of your negation magic. When casting counterspell or dispel magic, you do not have to use verbal or somatic components in the casting, preventing others from taking reactions in response to these spells.
Counter Analysis
Beginning at 10th level, your knowledge of the arcane further amplifies your negation abilities. If you can see a creature casting a spell or a magical effect, you are able to tell the level of the spell. Additionally, if you cast counterspell or dispel magic at a level that is below the effect or spell you are trying to cancel, you may add the level of the spell slot you used to the ability check you make as part of those spells.
Negative Constant
At 14th level, negation magic has become second nature to you, allowing you to avoid its effects. You are no longer affected by spells or magical effects that would negate your ability to cast spells and/or cancel magical effects that you have created.
