Monk
Base Class: Monk

These monks have trained under the tutelage of monks who have been hurt and betrayed by spellcasters. Therefore, they have learned how to counter and redirect spellcasters' energies, redirecting that energy into the defeat of that spellcaster.

Deflect Magic

Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you can use your Deflect Missiles ability on ranged spell attacks. If you make a ranged attack back at the caster, you instead must spend an amount of Ki points equal to the level of the spell (cantrips require 1 Ki point for this).

Cantrip Study

In order to truly defeat spell casters, you must understand their capabilities, and implement their abilities as your own. Also when you reach level 3 in this class, you learn 2 cantrips from any spell list. You can cast them using Wisdom for your Spellcasting ability.

Additionally, when you cast a cantrip with a casting time of 1 action, you can make an Unarmed Strike as a bonus action that turn.

Mage Disruptor

At 6th level, when a spell caster within 5 ft of you casts a spell, you can attack them with an Unarmed Strike as a reaction. You can also choose to spend two Ki points if this Unaremd Strike hits. If you do so, the spell caster must make a Constitution Saving Throw, as if they are concentrating on a spell, against your Ki save DC. If they fail, the spell fades into nothingness; however, they do not use a spell slot on that failed spell.

Arcane Fuel

At 17th level, when you reduce a creature that has the Spellcasting or Pact Magic feature to 0 hit points, you can regain an amount of Ki points equal to your Proficiency Bonus.

Magical Thievery

Beginning at 11th level, when you hit a creature that has cast a spell within 1 minute with an attack, you can spend an amount of Ki points equal to a spell’s level (that the caster has cast in the last minute) x 2. You gain the ability to cast that spell at its lowest level, using Wisdom as your Spellcasting modifier. This ability to cast this spell is spent after you cast it once, after a Long Rest, or if you use Magical Thievery on another spell.
