Cleric
Base Class: Cleric

Clerics of this domain take the teaching of the Athar to heart in a way that grants them tremendous powers against those who claim to wield divine might. These clerics accept their might be true deities, but those being are beyond understanding. They believe the entity where all of the powers comes from is known as the Greater Unknown, and so-called deities simply take the credit and gain power from their followers.

These clerics do not doubt the existence of many deities, they are fully aware of their existence and know they stand in the way of divine powers being accessible to some. The cleric proves that their magic comes from somewhere greater still beyond the control and permissions of deities and patron, and in any moment where they will communicate with a deity or patron, they will communicate with them as a negotiation in the deity or patron's interest to act rather than for their support and aid to help.

Divine Resistance

At 1st level, you rebel against the greatness of deities and the belief that power is only permitted through them. You have resistance to Radiant damage, and you can have advantage on a saving throw against spells.

Additionally, you've learned that magic doesn't only come from any one deity's permission and they can be bargained with to lend their divine intervention. You may no longer use a holy symbol as a Spellcasting Focus, but when you gain the Channel Divinity ability at level 2, you no longer need to present a holy symbol.

Divine Cancellation

Starting at the 2nd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to nullify a spell effect.

As a reaction, if a creature is casting a spell equal to or lower than your proficiency bonus, you can make the spell fail and have no effect. If it is casting a spell higher than your proficiency bonus, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. On a success, the creature's spell fails and has no effect.

Shared Defiance

At 6th level, you know how to extend your resistance to others. As a bonus action, you can grant an ally advantage on saving throws against spells for 1 minute.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of once). You regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Potent Spellcasting

Starting at 8th level, your cleric cantrips deal extra damage equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum of 1).

Divine Retribution

At 17th level, your connection to the Great Unknown becomes so strong that you disrupt and bend the will of magic. When you successfully counter a spell with Divine Cancellation or Counterspell, you may cause the spell to rebound at the original caster instead.

Additionally, any creature you choose within 30 ft. of you has disadvantage on the saving throws to maintain concentration.
