Blood Hunter
Base Class: Blood Hunter

Blood Hunters that belong to the Order of The Sin Eater use the augmented nature of their blood to consume the flesh of the monsters they hunt and use their foul powers in battle. They have learned a ritual method of preparing and consuming the flesh of their fallen foes, altering their hemocraft and their bodies

Feast of The Damned

At level 3, you learn the ritual required to prepare and eat the flesh of fallen monsters so that you can use their powers later in combat. When a creature with blood dies within your melee range you can use your reaction or within 1 hour of its death to take part of it which preserves it into a Host, you can retrieve and preserve an amount of Hosts equal to your proficiency bonus. Using this Host you can conduct Feast of the Damned, a 10 minute ritual in which you prepare and consume the Host allowing you to use some of its attributes, when you activate your Crimson Rite, until your next long rest.

The Body and The Blood

When you reach level 3, the ritual feast that you partake in infuses your blood with the power of monsters. When you activate your Crimson Rite while Feast of The Damned is active you can choose to gain an amount of charges equal to your Hemocraft modifier (min. 1), you can use these charges as a bonus action to transform parts of your body allowing you to use the powers of the monsters you eat for 1 minute, as long as the ability is not spell casting or regeneration. You cannot use an ability more than once per activation of this skill:

1 charge: You can expend 1 charge to use one of the abilities below

  • You gain the walking speed of the creature (if it is higher than yours) plus one other movement speed it has, this movement is capped at 30ft.
  • You gain a +1 to AC (if the creature has natural armor)
  • You gain its senses, these are capped at 30ft

2 charges: You can expend 2 charges to use one of the abilities below

  • You use one of its Actions
  • You gain one of of its Passive Abilities
  • You gain it’s resistances, capped at 2 damage types

Your Saving throw for these abilities are your Hemocraft saving throw

Insatiable Hunger

Starting at level 7, your body starts to acclimate to certain creatures better than others, when you create a host as part of Feast of The Damned you can now create a Talisman to access its abilities whenever you use Feast of The Damned no matter what species you get future Hosts from, you can create an amount of Talismans equal to your proficiency bonus in this way. If you are at the max amount of Talismans and wish to add a new one you must destroy one of your older ones. Additionally, your appetite knows no satisfaction, when you kill a creature while The Body and The Blood is active you regain 1 charge for every creature killed.

Chimera's Banquet

Once you reach level 11 you are strong enough to handle the blood of multiple monsters at once, combing them, turning yourself into the ultimate killing machine. When you use Feast of The Damned you can use 2 different monster parts gaining charges equal to your Hemocraft modifier from each allowing you to use abilities from each monster. Abilities with identical effects do not stack. Charges gained from each monster part can only be used for their respective abilities. Additionally your transformation from The Body and The Blood can now be triggered when you use a Blood Curse and when you Amplify a Blood Curse.

Brand of The Glutton

Starting at 15th level, Once per long rest when you land a critical attack against a creature you have Brand of Castigation on you can use your reaction to immediately consume part of it, using it as you would a Host of a monster for Feast of The Damned. This is added in addition to your active The Body and The Blood transformation if you only have 1 active, if you have 2 active you can choose to replace one of them.

Blasphemous Gourmand

Once you reach level 18 your hemocraft mastery has reached the point that you can extract a monster’s most powerful abilities from your blood. When you transform using The Body and The Blood with a Host of a monster that has legendary actions, you can use one of it’s legendary actions as an action on your turn. If the Host of the creature was remembered through Insatiable Hunger it is considered forgotten. You can only use this feature once per long rest.
