Rogue
Base Class: Rogue

You have always seen the lines, only faintly until recently. The flow through the air and cover living creatures. You can make them more visible by focusing but cannot interact with them.

That was until you discovered what those lines can allow you to do. It takes concentration but if you cut a blade through the line, it always allow for the perfect cut.

The Line Seer subclass focused on the characters ability to always find the line of perfect cut, being guided by some magical or supernatural force present in their mind or eyes.

Following Lines

3rd-level Line Seer feature

By concentrating on the lines you see, and following them with your blade, you can deal a decisive blow against an opponent.

When you roll to hit with a melee weapon, if you miss you can add a number to the roll equal to your proficiency bonus to the attack to try and make it hit. If it does hit the damage is increased by an additional 1d6. If the attack still misses, the resource is not spent for this long rest.

You may use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Everyday Line Use

3rd-level Line Seer feature

The lines you see can also help with activities other than combat.

You gain proficiency with cooking utensils as the lines show you where to cut both meat and vegetables.

You also gain proficiency in survival and have advantage when making checks to skin or harvest from a creature when using a knife.

Line Sense

9th-level Line Seer feature

You have become more proficient in following and understanding the lines. When the lines move you now are better able to track and follow them, especially when they move in response to danger.

You gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws against non-spell effects.

Precise Strikes

13th-level Line Seer feature

The lines you see have become more clear, you can follow them without having to concentrate as hard. Or you have become so used to following the lines that you can follow them more naturally.

The lines allow for more precise cutting, meaning your hits have more chance to do devastating damage. You can now critically hit on a 19 or 20.

Additionally, if you rolled an 18 you may use your "following line" feature to turn it into a critical hit. You may only use "following lines" in this way once per long rest.

Executing Lines

17th-level Line Seer feature

The lines become more clear to you when an enemy is closer to death, they begin to show you how best to execute your enemies.

When an enemy creature is below half their hit points, you begin to see their execution lines.
You may choose to forgo your normal attack(s) to instead make an execution attack with your action.

The opponent makes a constitution saving throw, DC equal to 8 , adding 4 to the DC for every 10% margin they are below half hit points.

On a failed save, you execute them with a precise strike, bringing them to 0 hit points and killing them.
On a successful save, you instead deal damage equal to your rouge level + the weapon's normal damage modifier.

Once this feature is used to successfully kill a creature it cannot be used again until after a short rest.
