Capable of calling upon the power of the gods in the form of blessings and spells, warpriests blend divine magic with martial skill.

Divine Warrior

A war-priest has proficiency in Heavy armour and athletics as well as in constitution saving throws.

There is a power in symbology, you gain proficiency in your deities favoured weapon if you do not have it already and you may use this weapon as a spell casting focus, this is known as your sacred weapon.

Domain Spells

The war-priest domain gives you access to a limited list of spells that are always prepared. Once you have reached the required level in this class as shown below these spells are prepared in addition  to all other spells you have prepared.

1st divine favor, shield of faith
3rd branding smite, spiritual weapon
5th beacon of hopespirit guardians
7th death wardfire shield
9th hold monster, dispel evil and good

Channel Divinity: Divine Fury

As a bonus action you imbue your sacred weapon with divine power; you must be holding your weapon to activate Divine Fury, but the duration does not finish if you no longer hold it. For the next minute all attacks with your sacred weapon deal an additional 1D4 radiant damage, this can only affect your attacks.

This damage increases by 1D4 for every 4 war-priest levels you have beyond 2nd.

Extra Attack

At 6th level a war-priest can make 2 attacks whenever they take the attack action instead of one.

This does not stack with any other extra attacks gained from other class levels.

Fervor

A war-priest may expend one use of fervor to cast a spell with a casting time of an action as a bonus action. This spell must be one that targets one or more creatures, but only the warpriest may be the target of the spell. In addition, a spell cast this way may be cast without any somatic components.

A warpriest has a number of points of fervor equal to their wisdom modifier.

Avatar of War

At 17th level, a war-priest gains resistance to all bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage from non-magical sources
