Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

Spartans are the most durable soldiers imaginable. They exist to fight, however, they live by a strict code of honor; no soldier is superior to another, a calm mind is stronger than a reckless one; and they never, ever, drop their shield. You will fight to your last breath, but you will not put those around you in unnecessary danger. Others look at you and think of you as a brute, but they don't see the brilliant tactician within you. You are not a barbarian; you are a fighter and a warrior. You strike with precision without giving the enemy an easy strike against you.

Phalanx

At 3rd level, you have honed your capabilities with a shield. As a bonus action, you can use half your movement speed to raise your shield in front of you, granting yourself half cover from attacks until the start of your next turn. Additionally assuming you have not moved this turn, you may instead use an action to spend all your movement speed to plant yourself in a guarded stance with your shield, granting yourself and nearby allies within 5 feet of you three-quarters cover until the start of your next turn.

Spear Expert

At 3rd level, you gain a certain mastery when fighting with a spear. When using spears the base die is now a 1d8 and the versatile dice is now a 1d10. Making a thrown attack at long range does not impose disadvantage on the attack when using a spear. When attacking with a spear in melee combat you can choose to either have the damage be piercing or slashing. When wielding spears they now have the reach property.

Unarmored Defense

While you are not wearing any armor, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Constitution modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.

Riposte

Starting at 7th level, you have mastered the art of deflect-and-counterattack. When a creature within 10 feet of you targets you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to deflect the incoming attack with your shield. Doing so reduces the incoming damage by 1d12+the total ac bonus from your shield+ your fighter level. if doing so reduces the damage to 0, you may immediately make a melee weapon attack against that creature as part of the same reaction.

Weapon Bond

At 3rd level, you learn a ritual that creates a magical bond between yourself and one spear and a shield. You perform the ritual over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short rest. The spear and shield must be within your reach throughout the ritual, at the conclusion of which you touch the weapon and shield to forge the bond. You can only be bonded to one spear and one shield at a time. if you attempt to bond with another spear or shield the previous bond will break.

Once you have bonded a weapon and shield to yourself, you can’t be disarmed of that weapon or shield unless you are incapacitated. If it is on the same plane of existence, you can summon that weapon as a bonus action on your turn, causing it to teleport instantly to your hand.

You always know the direction of your spear and shield.

Your spear now counts as magical. If it was already magical it gets a +1.

You can now recall your spear and shield to your hand as a bonus action.

Dazing Shield Bash

At 10th level, your experience with your shield has taught you new methods of delivering powerful blows. Whenever you take the attack action on your turn, you may replace one of your attacks with this ability. when you do so, you thrust your shield into the enemy's face, forcing them to make a Constitution saving throw equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, all melee attacks made against that creature have advantage until the end of that creature's next turn.

Victory or Death

Starting at 15th level, you are braver than most; never allowing yourself to retreat in battle. When you fall below half of your maximum hit points equal to your fighter level + twice your proficiency bonus. Whilst these temporary are active, you have advantage on all melee attack rolls. This can occur once per long rest.

King of Sparta

At  15th level, you learn to imbue all your attacks into one super-strong spear throw. As an action, you can use 10 feet of your movement speed to firmly plant your feet on the ground and throw your spear. This attack counts for all your attacks. You only roll the attack once to see if it lands and if it lands you can roll for damage as if you have landed all of your attacks. bonus is added for each damage roll. The range for this attack is double your normal spear range. You can do the number of times equal to your proficiency bonus + your strength modifier You gain all uses back after a long rest.

Bred for Battle

At 18th level, your expertise in battle has granted you stamina beyond any other warrior. You gain one additional use of your Action surge. Additionally, you may now use a two-handed weapon in one hand, assuming a shield is in your other hand or nothing in your other hand. Your ranged spear attack is doubled.
