Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of the Hospitalier is the path of the compassionate weapon. Known by some as Medic Knights-- these stalwart souls traverse the bloodiest battlefields, the darkest jungles, and the foulest pits of hell to give succor to the sick, the wounded, and the lost. Originally an elite branch of the Boros Legion, Hospitalier Paladins became potent and valuable assets in many of Ravnica's more martially-trained guilds, evolving to incorporate the unjudging compassion of the Selesnya Conclave, the consummate professionalism of the Azorious Senate, and the drive for self-improvement of the Orzhov Syndicate. Regardless of their employer, Hospitalier Knights are sworn not just to the oath of the divine warrior; but of the trained physician. They offer their care to any-- even the foes they defeat, should they surrender and see the folly of standing against a force with one of these mighty war physicians in their midst.

Tenets of the Hospitalier:

The tenets of the Oath of the Hospitalier vary in exact terms from organization to organization and from plane to plane; but most are martially-inclined evolutions of physician's oaths taken by doctors and other caretakers of the body, mind, and spirit. In broad terms, the Hospitalier's oaths are as follows:

Compassion
I will be mindful always of my great responsibility to preserve the health and the life of my charges, and I will take any under my care who request it, provided it endangers no one else further.

Dedication
I will be ever vigilant in aiding in the general welfare of the community, sustaining its laws and institutions, not engaging in those practices which will in any way bring shame or discredit upon myself or my profession

Cooperation
I will endeavor to work in accord with my colleagues in a spirit of progressive cooperation and never by word or by act cast imputations upon them or their rightful practices.

Cultivation
I will attend to my own health, well-being, and abilities in order to provide care of the highest standard.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Rescuer's Lifeline. As an reaction, you can conjure a cord of light to evacuate or intervene, using your Channel Divinity. When an ally you can see within 30 feet of you is hit by an attack you can choose to either move that character to an empty space adjacent to you or for you to move to an empty space adjacent to the chosen ally. In either case, the chosen ally gains resistance to all damage from the triggering attack. This movement does not provoke attacks of opportunity.

Transfusing Smites. As an bonus action you enter a state of destructive reconstruction, using your Channel Divinity. Until the end of your next turn, whenever you deal damage with your Divine Smite ability, you may choose to heal an adjacent creature other than yourself for an amount equal to half the radiant damage dealt (rounded down).

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed. The Healing Spirit spell can be found in Xanathar's Guide to Everything.

Oath of the Hospitalier Spells

Aura of Abundance

Starting at 7th level, while you are conscious, you emanate a aura that bolsters powers of restoration. Whenever a non-hostile creature within 10 ft of you is subjected to an effect that rolls to restore their hit points you may add your charisma modifier as a bonus to the roll (minimum +1).

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Vaccine Doctrine

Beginning at 15th level you embody the truism that whatever does not kill, strengthens. Whenever another ally within 30 ft of you passes a saving throw you may use your reaction to grant that creature temporary hit points equal to your charisma modifier (minimum +1).

Miracle Worker

At 20th level, you can become a symbol of hope on shining wings. Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 10 minutes, you gain the following benefits:

  • Wings sprout from your back and grant you a flying speed of 60 feet.
  • You may use your Lay on Hands or Cleansing Touch feature as a bonus action or action.
  • Whenever an ally within 30 feet of you rolls a Death Save they critically succeed on a die roll of 18, 19, or 20.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
