Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

Paladins who swear the Oath of Elemental Harmony embrace the fiery passion of Muspelheim and the icy serenity of Niflheim. They are the keepers of balance, wielding the fusion of fire and frost with an unwavering commitment to harmony in all things.

Tenets of Elemental Harmony:

  • Balance in All Things: Strive to find equilibrium in the world. Seek to mediate conflicts, restore order to chaos, and ensure that neither the flames of passion nor the chill of apathy overwhelm the hearts of mortals.
  • Guardians of the Elements: Protect the realms of fire and frost, ensuring that they remain in harmony. Defend against those who would abuse these elemental forces for destructive ends and teach others the wisdom of balance.
  • Adapt and Overcome: Embrace your adaptability, whether amidst the searing flames of Muspelheim or the bone-chilling frost of Niflheim. Learn to navigate treacherous terrain with grace and utilize your elemental powers to adapt to any challenge.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells based on your level that are always prepared and don't count against your daily number of prepared spells.

Oath of Elemental Harmony Spells

Elemental Novice

Starting at third level, if you are not already proficient, you gain proficiency in the arcana skill.

Channel Divinity: Elemental Infusion

Starting at 3rd level, you can use your Channel Divinity to channel the power of elemental fusion. As an action, you present your divine focus, and you can infuse your weapon with either the searing flames of Muspelheim or the numbing frost of Niflheim. For the next minute, your weapon attacks deal an additional 1d4 fire or 1d4 cold damage (your choice), striking fear into those who face the focused elemental force you command. You can switch the damage type between fire and cold as a bonus action on subsequent turns.

Elemental Infusion (Cold)

As an action, you infuse your weapon with the numbing frost of Niflheim. For the next minute, your weapon attacks deal an additional 1d4 cold damage, striking fear into those who face the focused elemental force you command. You can switch the damage type between fire and cold as a bonus action on subsequent turns.

Elemental Infusion (Fire)

As an action, you can infuse your weapon with the searing flames of Muspelheim. For the next minute, your weapon attacks deal an additional 1d4 fire striking fear into those who face the focused elemental force you command. You can switch the damage type between fire and cold as a bonus action on subsequent turns.

Elemental Attunement

Starting at 7th level, your attunement to the elements grows stronger. Twice per long rest when you hit with a melee weapon attack, you can infuse your target with elemental power, imposing either "Muspelheim's Burn" or "Niflheim's Frostbite." The target must make a Dexterity saving throw against your paladin spell save DC for "Muspelheim's Burn," or a Constitution saving throw against your paladin spell save DC for "Niflheim's Frostbite." Failure results in the chosen effect:

  • Muspelheim's Burn causes the target to take an additional 1d6 fire damage at the start of each of their turns for 1 minute, or until they or a creature adjacent to them uses an action to douse the flames. Additionally, on a failure the target is blinded by the ignition until the end of their next turn.
  • Niflheim's Frostbite slows the target, reducing their movement speed by 10 feet for 1 minute. The target can make a Constitution saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success. Additionally, on a failure the target suffers the extreme cold and can only make 1 attack as part of their attack action until the end of their next turn.

Additionally starting at 7th level while you are conscious, you exude a ten-foot aura which is replaced by Elemental Equilibrium at level 15. The hostiles within the aura suffer the following effects:

  • Damage from your oath class features ignores resistance to fire and cold damage.

Elemental Mastery

Starting at 15th level, you achieve the pinnacle of your elemental mastery, your proficiency in arcana becomes expertise.

Aura of Elemental Equilibrium

Starting at 15th level, while conscious you radiate an aura of elemental equilibrium that encompasses a 30-foot radius centered on yourself. This aura reflects the perfect balance between the scorching flames of Muspelheim and the numbing frost of Niflheim. Your aura has the following effects:

  • Allies within this aura gain resistance to both fire and cold damage. They are shielded from the extremes of these elements, finding strength in their harmony.
  • Additionally, enemies within the aura have their immunity to the fire and cold damage you deal from your Oath abilities lowered to resistance and resistance to the damage to neutral.

Elemental Ascendance

At 20th level, you reach the pinnacle of your elemental mastery, becoming an embodiment of the harmonious fusion of Muspelheim's flames and Niflheim's frost.
As an action, you can become the Avatar of Elemental Ascendance, becoming wreathed in swirling flames and frigid ice. For 1 minute while concentrating, you gain the following benefits:

  • You are immune to fire and cold damage, and you can move through difficult terrain created by fire or ice without hindrance.
  • Your attacks deal an additional 1d10 fire and 1d10 cold damage.
  •  Additionally, during this time, you can conjure either a Flameburst or a Frostspike from a point within your aura as a bonus action on your turn. The Flameburst creates a 15-foot cone of scorching flames, creatures within the area must succeed a Dexterity saving throw against your paladin spell save DC, or take 3d8 fire damage. The Frostspike launches a 60-foot line of icy shards, creatures the spike passes through must succeed a Constitution saving throw against your paladin spell save DC or take  3d8 cold damage. You can use one of these abilities once per turn.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest. This extraordinary transformation represents your ultimate mastery over the elements and is a testament to the enduring balance you bring to the world.
