Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

Wizards who follow the School of the Infinite Mind delve deep into the mysteries of the mind, life, and death. They eschew the traditional path of preparing spells and instead harness the boundless potential of their intellect, granting them unique powers over necromantic and psychic magic.

Mind of the Infinite

  • Spontaneous Spellcasting: Casters with the "Mind of the Infinite" don't need to prepare spells in advance like traditional spellcasters. Instead, they can cast spells directly from their available spell list, provided they have spell slots of the appropriate level.

  • Versatile Casting: This feature enables these casters to adapt their spellcasting strategy rapidly, choosing the most fitting spells for a given situation. They can call upon their magical abilities on the fly from memory (no spellbook is needed), which sets them apart from spellcasters who must prepare specific spells each day.

  • Limitations: Although this ability grants unparalleled flexibility, casters with the "Mind of the Infinite" still require spell slots to cast spells, and their spell list and known spells are subject to the normal rules governing their class.

Psychic Resonance

You gain the ability to manipulate psychic energies. You can add your Intelligence modifier to damage rolls when you deal damage with a spell that requires an attack roll or a saving throw. This feature reflects the intense focus and concentration of your Infinite Mind.

Grim Harvest

At 2nd level, you gain the ability to reap life energy from creatures you kill with your spells. Once per turn when you kill one or more creatures with a spell of 1st level or higher, you regain hit points equal to twice the spell’s level, or three times its level if the spell belongs to the School of Necromancy. You don’t gain this benefit for killing constructs or undead.

Necrotic Mastery

At 6th level, you add the animate dead spell to your spellbook if it is not there already. When you cast animate dead, you can target one additional corpse or pile of bones, creating another zombie or skeleton, as appropriate.

Your studies of necromantic magic reach new heights. You can reanimate undead creatures with greater power.
When you cast a spell that creates undead creatures, such as "Animate Dead" or "Create Undead," the resulting creatures gain:

  • temporary hit points equal to your Wizard level
  • add your proficiency bonus to their attack rolls and damage rolls.

Psychic Ward

You gain the ability to shield your mind from mental intrusions. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened. Additionally, you can't be targeted by "Detect Thoughts" or similar spells and abilities unless you willingly allow it.

Infinite Insight

Your mental prowess reaches its zenith. When you cast a divination spell of 1st level or higher, you can add your Intelligence modifier to any roll made as part of that spell, as if you had a 9th-level spell slot. Furthermore, when you use your "Mind of the Infinite" ability, you can choose to cast spells without expending a spell slot a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. These spell casts function as if they were cast using a spell slot equal to half your Wizard level (rounded down).
