Deadeye

Deadeye is a rogue subclass based around hyper-specialization with an emphasis on improved accuracy and critical hit rate. It is inspired by the cool critical hit builds you can make with magic items in Baldur's Gate 3.

You are an expert in your craft and your skill with a weapon is unmatched. Deadeye rogues are bounty hunters specialized in finding and exploiting their opponent's weaknesses, often with a focus on ranged weapons like crossbows and bows. Rogues that decide to walk the path of the deadeye dedicate themselves to the endless pursuit of perfection.

Decisive Strike

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, the number you need to roll a Critical Hit when attacking with a finesse or ranged weapon you are proficient in is reduced by 1.

You also gain an additional way to use your Sneak Attack; provided you haven't used your Sneak Attack this turn and you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll, when you roll a Critical Hit when attacking with a finesse or ranged weapon you can make that attack into a Sneak Attack.

Tool Expert

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with one type of artisan's tools of your choice, then choose one of your tool proficiencies. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses the chosen proficiency.

Identify Weakness

Starting at 9th level, as a bonus action, you can gain uncanny insight into your opponent’s defences, reducing the number you need to roll a Critical Hit when attacking with a finesse or ranged weapon you are proficient in by an additional 3 on your next attack roll on the current turn.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Lethal Precision

By 13th level, the number you need to roll a Critical Hit when attacking with a finesse or ranged weapon you are proficient in is reduced by an additional 1.

Unerring Accuracy

When you reach 17th level, your accuracy and skill with a weapon reaches almost superhuman levels. Your Reliable Talent feature also applies to attack rolls when attacking with a finesse or ranged weapon you are proficient in.
