Pack Leader

You are the master of a great pack. At 3rd level you gain three hunting dogs, and one additional dog at 7th, 11th, and a final dog at 15th level. These dogs accompany you on your adventures and are trained to wear down and harry your pray. The dogs can be of any breed but will use the Mastiff stat block. Add your proficiency bonus plus to the dogs' AC, attack rolls, Damage, saving DCs, and as well as to any saving throws and skills it is proficient in.

The dogs hit point maximum equals your total hit point maximum divided equally between each of your dogs. Like any creature, it can spend Hit Dice during a short rest to regain hit points. The dogs share a hit dice pool equal your hit dice total.

The dog obeys your commands as best as they can. They take their turn on your initiative. On your turn, you can verbally (or with hand signs) command the beast where to move (no action required by you). The dogs are trained not to attack or kill but to corner your prey allowing you, the pact master, the killing blow. You can use your bonus action to verbally command it to take the Grapple, Push, Dash, Disengage, or Help action. If you don't issue a command, the dogs take the Dodge action.

If you are incapacitated or absent, the dogs act on their own, focusing on protecting you and itself. The dogs will always make an opportunity attack on any hostile creature attempting to leave their melee range without your permission. Additionally, all opportunity attacks made against the dogs are made at disadvantage.

You can communicate simple concepts through both verbal and somatic commands with your pack.

If a dog dies, you can obtain a new dog from a breeder or otherwise accommodating location. You must spend 8 hours and 100 gp training and bonding with a dog that isn’t hostile to you.

Pack Training

Beginning at 7th level, your dogs have grown in cunning, and strength and you now use the Wolf Stat Block. You also gain the pack tactics trait. The pack has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one of pack is within 5 feet of the creature and the entire pack isn’t incapacitated.

In addition, the dogs' attacks now count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

You can now train a fourth dog.

Running with the Pack

You can now run with the pack more effortlessly. Your walking speed is increased to match that of your dogs. If your speed is already faster than the dog's, your pack's speed increases to match yours.

You gain expertise in the intimidation skill as long as at least one member of your pack is within 5ft of you.

You and your dogs can now communicate telepathically as long as you are within 50 feet of each other.

You can now train a fifth dog.

Apex Predators

Beginning at 15th level, your pack has reached the top of the food chain, true apex predators and masters of the hunt. You now use the Dire Wolf stat block for your dogs.

Using the Extra Attack feature, you can make one weapon attack yourself and command up to three (3) of your dogs to take the attack action. The remaining dogs can still use their actions to use the Grapple, Push, Dash, Disengage, or Help actions.

You can now train a sixth and final Dog.
