Spelljammer Engine
3rd-level Spelljammer Engineer feature
You've built a magical device known as a Spelljammer engine. Using tinker's tools, you can take an action to magically create a Medium Spelljammer engine in an unoccupied space on a horizontal surface within 5 feet of you. Once you create an engine, you can't do so again until you finish a long rest or until you expend a spell slot to create one. You can have only one engine at a time and can't create one while your engine is present.
The engine is a magical object. The engine has an AC of 18 and a number of hit points equal to five times your artificer level. It is immune to poison damage and psychic damage. If it is forced to make an ability check or a saving throw, treat all its ability scores as 10 (+0). If the mending spell is cast on it, it regains 2d6 hit points. It disappears if it is reduced to 0 hit points. You can dismiss it early as an action.
The engine resembles a chair that can be sat in with arms on the sides. The engine emits breathable air in a 10 foot sphere centered on itself. On each of your turns, you can take a bonus action to push a button, flip a switch, or pull a level on the arms of the engine to activate the it, causing it to do one of the following:
- Gravity hook. The engine pulls one object or creature that's no more then 40 feet away from it up to 30 feet closer to the engine, provided the creature or object is the same size or smaller then the engine.
- Spelljammer attachment. The engine attaches itself to the floor of Spelljamming vehicle, provided it's in contact with one. While attached in this way, the engine can't be detached from the Spelljamming vehicle unless the spot on the floor it's attached to is destroyed or if you use a bonus action to detach it.
- Solar propeller. The Spelljamming vehicle that the engine is attached to gains a +20 feet bonus to it's flying speed until the beginning of your next turn, provided it is attached to one.
- Repair Spelljammer. The engine casts the mending cantrip on itself or any part of the Spelljamming vehicle it's attached to, provided it is attached to one, requiring no components.
Far Caster
5th-level Spelljammer Engineer feature
Accustomed to the vastness of Wildspace, you're spells are able to function at a greater distance. When you cast a spell using tinker's tools as the spellcasting focus, the range of the spell increases by a number of feet equal to five times your artificer level.
Spelljammer Expert
9th-level Spelljammer Engineer feature
You are experienced with operating Spelljaming vehicles and surviving in Wildspace.
- Being in zero gravity doesn't cause you to have disadvantage on melee attack rolls.
- You have advantage on Constitution checks made to succeed in a Spelljammer duel.
- You have advantage on Wisdom (Survival) checks made to succeed on Astral fishing.
- You can hold your breath for 1 extra minute.
Modified Engine
15th-level Spelljammer Engineer feature
You have mastered the magic behind Spelljamming vehicles, allowing you to increase the power of your Spelljammer engine.
- Air bubble improvement. The radius of the sphere that the engine emits breathable air in increases to 30 feet.
- Gravity claw modification. The range of the engine's gravity claw increases to 60 feet, and it can pull creatures and objects up to 50 feet closer to itself.
- Improved solar propeller. The solar propeller now gives the Spelljamming vehicle it's attached to a +40 foot bonus to it's flying speed until the biggening of your next turn.
- Spelljammer pilot. The engine can now function as a Spelljamming helm.
