Base Class: Bard
Calligraphy is an art form that has been celebrated throughout the centuries, within law-books, documents, novels, and children's tales. Some have learned how to weave magic and arcane runes into their calligraphy to create a hybridized art form called Spell-script. Spell-script allows performers, bards and common-folk alike to cast enchanting spells by reading aloud the verses inscribed with Spell-script.
Scrolls marked with Spell-script are called Verse Scrolls. Their magic fades over a short period of time, but remain potent enough for the creator or their allies to make use of the magic stored inside.
The Scribe's Art
3rd level College of Calligraphy feature
You have studied how to inscribe magical verses into paper, and are able to create art with the expert strokes of your pen. You gain proficiency in Calligrapher's supplies. In addition, when you gain certain levels in this class, you learn spells determined by the table below. The following spells count as Bard spells for you, if they don't already, and are always prepared. They do not count against the number of spells you can prepare at a time.

Verses of Spell-Script
3rd level College of Calligraphy feature
You have mastered the art of creating and inscribing magical verses into scrolls. When you take a Long Rest, you can create a Verse Scroll, provided you have access to paper, ink, and a pen. A Verse Scroll contains a single spell of 5th level or lower from the Enchantment, Illusion, or Divination school of magic, chosen from your list of prepared spells. After 24 hours the scroll's magic fades, leaving behind a piece of parchment with beautiful calligraphy.
A creature who attempts to cast a spell from a Verse Scroll must make a Charisma(Performance) check. The DC of this check is equal to 10 plus twice the level of the spell. If that creature succeeds, it successfully casts the spell at the spell's base level, using the creature's Charisma modifier for spell save DC (8 + Charisma modifier + Proficiency Bonus) and spell attack bonus (Charisma modifier + Proficiency Bonus). After a creature successfully casts a spell from the Verse Scroll, it loses its magic.
Whenever a creature successfully casts a spell from one of your scrolls, you can choose to give it one of your Bardic Inspiration dice, without spending a bonus action.
Arcane Inks
6th level College of Calligraphy feature
You've learned how to mix your inks in a way that allows them to hold more arcane power. Your Verse Scrolls now last 48 hours before their magic fades. In addition, a creature casting a spell from one of your Verse Scrolls can expend their Bardic Inspiration die to add it to their spellcasting DC or spell attack bonus for that spell.
Reusable Arcana
14th level College of Calligraphy feature
You've learned how to reuse the stored arcana of your spell-script. If a Verse Scroll loses its magic within 30 feet of you, as a reaction, you can regain a spell slot that has a level equal to half the level, rounded up, of the spell contained within the expended Verse Scroll.
