Base Class: Sorcerer
Vampirism is a terrible and frightening curse, passed on from one to another by means of a bite. For a certain few, however, the Vampirism leaves their body intact, but makes fundamental changes to their very souls. Vampiric Souls specialize in blood magic and spells of the night to strike true fear into their enemies–or victims.
Bane of the Sun
When you choose this origin at level 1, the vampirism has affected you slightly, but in some ways beneficially. You have disadvantage on all ability checks while in direct sunlight, but only if the sunlight hits your skin directly. However, you gain truesight with a range of 30 feet while in dim light or darkness.
Umbral Focus
At level 1, you can draw power from the shadows to bolster your spells. Once per turn so long as you are in dim light or darkness, when you make an attack roll for a spell, you may roll it at advantage. You can use this ability 3 times per long rest.
Children of the Night
At level 6, you can siphon the energy of life from recently departed souls. As a reaction, whenever a creature within 30 feet of you is reduced to 0 hit points or dies, you can regain a number of hit points equal to half your Sorcerer level (rounded down). You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and expended uses reset on a long rest.
Unwilling Thrall
At level 14, you learn the spell dominate person. When you cast this spell, you are not required to hold concentration on it, and the duration lasts for 10 minutes instead. Additionally, you can command the creature using your bonus action instead of your action, if you so wish. Despite the fact that it has no concentration limits, casting this spell a second time ends the effect of the first casting.
Undying Aspect
At level 18, as an action, you can spend 5 sorcery points to gain the powers of the vampire lord who bestowed this curse upon you. For 1 minute, you gain resistance to all forms of non-magical damage, immunity to necrotic damage, and a flying speed of 30 feet. You also gain vulnerability to radiant damage, but if you spend 2 more sorcery points, you lose this vulnerability. Additionally, while in this form, you can use the healing from the Children of the Night feature an unlimited number of times, and you gain double hit points from it.
