Base Class: Monk
The Way of the Stars allows monks to draw on the power of starlight. These monks have tracked heavenly patterns since time immemorial, discovering secrets hidden amid the constellations. By revealing and understanding these secrets, the Way of the Stars monasteries seek to harness the powers of the cosmos. Many monks of this discipline keep records of the constellations and the stars' effects on the world.
Subclass designed by u/GuenMaster, copy/pasted into Beyond format, with my own tweaks for personal use/flavor.
Shooting Star
You've acquired an ancient technique that mimics a shooting star. By releasing your ki, you can propel yourself through the air.
At 3rd level, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed. This flight works only in short bursts; you fall if you end your turn in the air and nothing else is holding you aloft.
Meteor Strike
You've acquired an ancient technique that mimics an impacting meteor. You can focus your ki to attack with cosmic energy.
Starting at 3rd level: when you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can spend 1 ki point to deal extra radiant damage equal to 1 martial arts die + your Wisdom modifier. You can increase the damage by spending additional ki points. Each additional ki point you spend increases the damage by 1 martial arts die. The maximum number of ki points (1 plus any additional points) that you can spend equals half your monk level.
Stellar Explosion
At 6th level, whenever you reduce damage using your Slow Falling feature, you can spend a ki point upon striking the ground. Each creature of your choice within 10 feet must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw, taking radiant damage equal to a roll of your Martial Arts damage die plus the amount of damage negated using your Slow Falling feature on a failure or half damage on a success. A target(s) that fails the save also subtracts a number equal to a roll of your Martial Arts damage die from the first attack roll or saving throw it makes before the end of your next turn. When you use this feature, you can spend a number of additional ki points up to your proficiency bonus to increase the range of this effect by 5 feet for each ki point spent.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short rest.
Starlight Pulse
As a bonus action at 11th level, you can spend 3 ki points to align your ki with the burning intensity of the stars.
For 10 minutes, your flying is no longer limited to short bursts, and you can add your Wisdom modifier to your unarmed strike attack and damage rolls. Moreover, when you successfully hit a creature with your Meteor Strike, it must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away per ki point spent on Meteor Strike. If the target collides with a solid object, it takes additional bludgeoning damage equal to a roll of your Martial Arts damage die(other creatures qualify as objects for the purpose of this feature). When this effect ends, you suffer 1 level of exhaustion.
Starchild
As a bonus action at 17th level, you become a conduit for the stars as you are wreathed in a luminous aura.
While using your Starlight Pulse feature you gain the following effects:
-You shed bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet. You can extinguish or restore the light (no action required).
-You gain Resistance to Cold and Radiant damage.
-Your flying speed is now double your walking speed. You can move through other creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain while you're flying. Every creature you pass through this way, suffers a roll of your Martial Arts damage die+ your Wisdom modifier as radiant damage, and a creature can take this damage only once per turn.
If you end your turn in another creature or object you take force damage equal to a roll of your Martial Arts damage die and are pushed in a random direction until you exit the creature or object.
