Base Class: Fighter
A Shield-Bearer believes that defence is the foundation of true offence and thus brands a shield as their weapon. They value the protection of their allies above all and will not hide in the face of danger and instead stand tall. Any that try and pass the wall of a Shield-Bearer must do with great strength or speed.
Shield Bond
Starting at 3rd level, you become a master of the shield and learn to use it as a weapon. Your weapon attacks whilst wearing a shield do 1d6 bludgeoning damage + your Strength modifier. This damage increases to 1d8, 1d10 at 7th and 15th level
Immovable
At level 3, the bond to your shield makes you tougher against foes and you gain the ability to use your Strength for Dexterity saving throws. In addition, you have advantage on saving throws that attempt to knock you prone or move you against your will.
Fortify
At 7th level, you have shown yourself as a pillar of strength and your ability to protect your allies from the frontlines has improved. Allies inside of a 15ft cone behind you gain advantage on Dexterity saving throws and +1 AC when being attacked by ranged attacks.
Protection Aura
Starting at 10th level, you can use a bonus action to taunt enemies 15ft around you by making yourself the main target. You can use this equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest and it lasts 5 turns. Yourself and all enemies in the area have half-movement speed and enemies have disadvantage on attack rolls made toward anyone that isn't you.
Wall
At 15th level, your Shield Bond has greatly improved. You gain an extra +1 to AC whilst wearing a shield and the Fortify cone has increased to 30ft
True Protector
At 18th level, you become a True Protector and gain temporary hit points equal to your constitution modifier +5 per enemy inside your protection aura.

Posted Feb 2, 2024What a hilarious concept. This is a great idea, although I hope you might readdress the final ability and tell me when exactly I get the temp HP.
