Base Class: Monk
Monks that spent all their life surrounded by natual ki. Their bond with the woods enchances the powers that they possess.
Monks of the arboreal core tap into the intrinsic ki of nature, channeling it to gain strength and harmony with the primordial elements. Since the beginning of time, many overlooked the power of the nature's ki, also known as true ki. All the powers that these monks have are the very same that gave birth to the world we know today.
Natural State
At 3rd level, you gain the following benefits while you are unarmed:
- You can use your Constitution modifier instead of your Strenght or Dexterity modifier to make saving throws, ability check, attack and damage rolls made with your wooden limbs.
- As a bonus action, you can use 1 ki point to transform one of your limb into a bklade, a mace or a spear. Doing so, the damage die size is increased by one and the damage type changes according to the shape it takes. At the end of the attack you may return your modified limb back to it's original shape. While your limb is shapeshifted, you can't use your bonus action to make any additional attack. Also your unarmed strikes you make using your wooden limbs have 5 feet extra reach.
- As a reaction, you can use 1 ki point to turn one of your limbs into a shield, raising your AC by 2 (it doesn't count as wielding a shield).
Also at 3rd level, you can speak and undertand Sylvan.
Sprouting Body
Starting at 6th level, depending on the shape of your limb, you can use 1 ki point to apply one of the following effects:
- Blade. The target that you hit with your bladed limb has disadvantage on his next attack roll.
- Mace. The target makesa a Dexterity saving throw. If it fails, it is pushed 5 feets away from you and they are prone.
- Spear. The target makesa a Strenght saving throw If it fails, it becomes grappled.
Also you can absorb the nature mana from a tree rather than using 1 ki point to shapeshift your limbs. You can absorb mana from one single tree only once per day.
Arboreal Resilience
Alsto at level 6, while you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 10 + your Constitution modifier + your Wisdom modifier.
Overgrown State
Starting at 11th level, you gain the following ability:
At the beginning of battle, you can spend 1 ki point to grow a thick cortex. You gain a number of temporary hitpoints equal to your monk level + your Constitution modifier. As long as those hitpoint exist, you have resistance to piercing, slashing and bulgeoing damage. You can also use your bonus action to make an additional attack with your modified limbs.
