Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

The Dhanush is an ancient sect of bowmen who specialize in overwhelmingly powerful ranged weapons. Their skills with their bows are highly sought after, being often employed by wealthier kings and lords to join hunts of larger more dangerous beasts, such as Dragons, Behirs and Hydras. They may be not as maneuverable as their allies, but they exchange that for superior firepower.

Dhanush Bow

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain access to the Dhanush Bow, an oversized weapon with a 500 lbs drawback weight. To properly wield this bow you must boast a Strength Score of at least 17 (in case you don't, you can still use it, however all attacks made with the Dhanush Bow are made with Disadvantage) The Dhanush Bow has a range of (200/400), it uses Javelins as its ammunition and deals 2d6 piercing damage on a hit. It has the same properties as a Longbow (only change being its range, obviously), as well as the Special* property.

*(Special: When the Dhanush Bow is fired, its wielder has their movement speed halved for the rest of this turn)

On a hit, a Medium or smaller target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier or be knocked prone. At 15th level you can knock Large creatures using this feature, and at 18th level you can knock Huge creatures.

Shakti's Power

  • When you score a critical hit with the Dhanush Bow, you can roll a third additional weapon damage dice.
  • If you make a Ranged Weapon Attack with Advantage, with the Dhanush Bow, you can forgo that Advantage to make an additional Ranged Weapon Attack with it, against the same target.

If you use Kali's Fury for this attack, both attacks benefit from the Kali's Fury additional damage on a hit.
